Agreed. I happened to watch Spider-Man last night, and I found the final 2 minutes between Mary Jane and Peter more affecting than 3 years worth of Clark and Lana. There is a way to make that storyline work, they're just not doing it.

Also agree with everything xVladx said. Has anyone ever laughed or even chuckled during an episode of SV?

Well apparently in the finale
Spoiler:
a girl called Kara from Krypton shows up - Supergirl anyone??
and I also read that next season
Spoiler:
Michael McKean will be joining the regular cast as Perry White
.

And lets face it,
Spoiler:
Lionel needs to die so that Lex can become the ultimate badguy in his own right

Spoilers, based on next week's preview:

Spoiler:
When Emily first appeared, I thought she was pretty much going to end up being Supergirl - she's a clone with some of Superman's powers. But this episode and the preview for next week would lead us to believe otherwise. Which begs the question, why even bring back Emily and then have her disappear again like so many other villains? Lame.

And if Clark leaves Smallville in the last episode - um, isn't that pretty much what happened in the end of last season. Except he's not evil. Wow, nice twist.

After the conversation with Pete, we all knew Clark would not have the courage to tell Lana everything. I really wish they would dump their "romance" and just move on.
Well, there's always Lex. There seems to be some kind of attraction between the two of them. Maybe they just dont know it yet.

Just finished watching this one, and sometimes this show is just too moronic for words. And by "sometimes," I'm just being diplomatic since I know some of you like it, and by "too moronic for words," I don't mean I'm not going to say it anyway.

So riddle me this: Lana almost dies in, what, every third episode? And yet Clark is afraid to tell her his secret because ... um ... she'd be in danger? Uh huh.

Exactly, the characters are just as stupid as they were three years ago. The character conflicts from season 1 to season 3 are exactly the same. Even the best shows when they try to keep character conflicts alive that long evolve the relationship..but there's been no evolution at all. What makes it worse is that we never saw these conflicts come to be, they pre-existed when the show started.

How do I know that I really don't care about the show....I read the spoilers...and still my response is "meh"

And my God, are they liquidating the entire cast? Lionel is dying from a "rare liver disease" and hell, he's being arrested for murder. Lana is moving to Paris. Pete is moving to wherever his Mom is. Jonathan is shows signs of death (heart attack, the "price" for taking Jor-El's powers).
Well this is nothing new for season finales heh. Let's take a look back at previous season's finales, and characters who "appeard to be leaving."
Spoiler:
Season 1 - Whitney joining the marines, Lana "dying" in the tornado. Total- 2
Season 2 - Clark AWOL in Metropolis, Lex "dying" in a plane crash, dr. bryce also "dying in plane crash." Total-3
Season 3 - up to the latest episode, Lana leaving for paris, Pete leaving for Wichita, Lionel dying of rare liver disease total-3

Then usually a couple episodes into the next season everything is almost back to normal . I'm looking forward to the finale this Wednesday.

On the Smallville website:

ODE TO PETE
By Anonymous

One of the friendliest faces in the halls of Smallville High, Pete Ross, will soon be leaving us for Wichita.

Knowing Pete has always been a joy. Whether it's his enthusiasm for Remy Zero, the latest Talon Mix, girls, football, schoolbooks or his best friend's student council campaign, he always approached everything with the utmost energy. Pete could make anything fun. Over the past few years, the majority of the pictures here in the Torch were taken by Pete, and his energy really had a chance to shine in his great photography.

Despite his enthusiasm, though, sometimes there were weeks where you'd barely hear him speak at all. Maybe it was the pressure of being part of such a successful Smallville family or the many adventures he was busy having with his friends, but even when he was quiet, you could always rely on Pete for a smile, and you knew the silence was just because there was overlooked genius brewing.

Pete, we'll miss you, and we're sure that very big things are in your future. Enter politics or something, and let the rest of the world know which Ross is Boss. But be sure to at least visit sometime, okay?

Oh god, that scene frustrated me more than anything else I've ever seen on this show - If I was Clark I'd still be grumbling "thanks a lot, dad"
