Goes back to last week's episode, but when Jack took the cigarettes from Chappelle before Chappelle's Helicopter Ride to Death and looked at them, was I the only one hoping Jack would say "Unfiltered? Are you crazy? Don't you know these things will kill ya?"
It can't be any worse than Chole's "I admire your energy" nonsense she was throwing out this week.

I'm putting this in spoilers, although I don't really think it's a spoiler:

i think it would be pretty corny if there really was an antidote to the virus. seems like the cheap way to do it. I say they hold saunders daughter and will either eventually find saunders or he will give himself and the virus up to save his daughter. but i still have no idea how this virus can possibly be contained since so many more poeple are becoming infected with it. even as tony was explaining to the others that they were looking at about 75 infected people all together, those 75 probably spread it to plenty of other people. so an antidote would seem the only possible solution to end this season on a high note(if it ends on a high note at all). I cant think of any other way.

Saunder's latest demand, the release of names of foreign spies all over the world, sounded very familiar. Wasn't there a movie with that threat as the main concern recently; like there was a list or a machine that would decode all the names of foreign spies or something? Anyone remember; it was driving me nuts during the episode.
And das, I know I'll sound like a broken record (or should I say a scratched CD for this new generation) for saying you're too hard on 24. Still, I honestly think they handled the resolution of Palmer's (second) assasination attempt satisfactorally. It's been three years and he's still recovering. He hasn't been back to L.A. in the interum. Maybe he should just stop going to that city altogether, it never seems to work out well for him or the country.
And I know that at three seasons in it's a little pointless to complain about transit times on 24, but it's about 110 miles from downtown LA to UCSB and Jack flew it in 11 minutes. I've flown from Orange to San Diego (a comparible distance) via emergency helicopter and it took over 45 minutes. Maybe next season, everyone at CTU can have transponders and get beamed from one location to another?

It's in another thread, but it deserves mention here: 24's been renewed for next season.
The producers promised more Kim, more Chloe, and less terrorism! (okay...I made that part up!)

The premise of the show (being real time and all) is cool, but reading and thinking about all teh things that have gone on in one day the past two & a half seasons is pretty funny. I still think Jack dying and coming back to life, chasing down bad guys and everything last year has to take the cake. However, I already forgot about the heroine thing!

It seems too similar to something they already did this season, actually. Didn't Nina's worm/virus in the CTU system threaten to release the names of all the CTU spies around the world?

This would be a great opporunity to create a list of people around the world Palmer wants to get rid of/discredit. Sure, throw some names of real US operatives in there for credibility, but name a bunch of highly placed foreign nationals we don't like.

How about this? If Michelle doesn't become infected (which her results will be in during the next episode), then she is immune to the virus. They can generate an antidote based on the antibodies she posesses that make her immune. Sorry - been watching too much X-Files on DVD lately.
