Am I missing the thread for this episode? I can't seem to find it.

Ranger 04-20-04 09:12 PM

Guess everybody's just speechless... or watching the shield.

Will das monkey still claim he knew exactly what would happen in this episode? ;)

Good episode. I did not expect them to get Kim back that quick. But ya'll got to admit that it was kind of silly to go after Jane on a day like this... not like Saunders would be ready for that.

Mittman 04-20-04 09:13 PM

Kind of a let down after last week, overall it was still decent though. There are only 5 episodes left, not much time for too many story arcs.

johnglass 04-20-04 09:16 PM

After the last episode I still couldn't believe they had killed off Chapelle. I kept expecting him to jump up and say "Ah-HAH" and start shooting baddies, but it never happened.

Anyone else hoping Kim would be the one to drop after the gun went off at the very end? :D

 Nah, I knew that one guy was a RED herring and some other guy would grab her, but figured the seconds would tick to commercial at that point. I was surprised they didn't suspend it there. Of course, when they started struggling, it didn't take a genius to guess the result. ;)

Odd episode. Cuthbert's acting at CTU was a real mess, and she wasn't as engaged in the scene as Sutherland. It made it hard to take the situation seriously. Same thing with the helicopter music. They broke out their "impending doom" music for the helicopter landing as UCSB, and it just felt out of place. And plot-wise, if Saunders' daughter is so important to him, wtf is she doing running around a public school with a potential deadly outbreak down the street? Come on, now.

Good stuff: liked how they've set up the outbreak. Something like that would be a nightmare to contain, and they've expressed that pretty well. I also like the setup for Jack to maybe "cross the line" or threaten evil things with Saunders' daughter (at least that's the feeling I get). If so, I hope this time it's not a fake camera trick and he tortures her to get to Saunders.

After such a good episode last week, this was horrible. Honestly, more Kim getting into trouble. The writers and producers don't even take this show seriously it seems.

Dialogue was terrible, like, "it's my choice...no...my duty."

Everything felt contrived and just weird. And I don't understand how Jack was still willing to even let her go, an order from Tony or not.

But at least it wasn't a drawn out thing where he's a hostage. Sure ain't a 24 season without Kim being held at gun point, eh?

Jack to Jane: Where is your father!
Jane: I don't know
Jack: WHERE IS HE WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME!
Jane: Stop yelling. Ok he's in the building across the hall where you guys raided earlier.
Jack: IF YOU DON'T TELL ME WHERE YOUR FATHER IS I'LL DO THINGS YOU'LL NEVER FORGET!
Jack: KIM! Don't stick that paperclip in the socket!

I saw Caleb from The O.C. as one of the presidents cabinet members.

Is this the same as Sunday's?

Depends. The episode on FX at 6PM EST was the same as Sunday's. The episdoe on Fox at 9PM EST was a brand new one.

chesola 04-20-04 10:29 PM

Tony: Jack, we have to use Kim in the field.
Jack: But she's an idiot. And there are kidnappers out there. And cougars. She could be kidnapped by cougars.

Kim has weapons training? Scary.

ChrisHicks 04-20-04 10:42 PM

was anyone else expecting to see that Kim shot herself?

I was halfway expecting Jack to catch a bullet from Kim.

In his teeth, no doubt. He's Jack Bauer!

Kim: But Chloe told me to open up another socket for her ... [crying] it's my duty!

"I like your energy Kim, use it!" - Chloe

Thought it was a decent episode. Looking forward to next weeks.

From last season, he's the VP.

I agree with das, the best parts are how they're handling the outbreak and hinting at, though I doubt it will happen, Jack torturing Saunders' daughter.

Yeah, no kidding. That heroin addiction that was kicking his ass 10 hours ago seems to have gone by the wayside.

Charlie Goose 04-20-04 11:31 PM

What happened to Jack's jonesing? He kicked a heroin habit with just a few sweats and gritted teeth?

When does Michele start having dreams about Mother Abigail?

Tony and Chase have recovered quite well too.

Actually, wasn't Tony's bandage a little bloodier than the past couple of hours..?

Btw - whatever happened to the presidents illness-hand-infection deal?

Actually, it might be an interesting thing to deal with next season. How Jack Bauer is a junkie- if it's not heroin, then it's stress and adrenaline.
Either way, Agent Bauer is one seriously F---ed up individual.
