I have the yearbook and just left the DVDs in there.

Yeah she was also on the first season of The O.C., and has appeared on Numbers recently, too.
She looked so different in the F&G "Discos And Dragons" episode, that I didn't recognize her at her first - even though I was looking for her. She's also credited as being in the "Smooching And Mooching" episode, too, (as "Laurie") - which I totally didn't see her in, so I'm going tio have to watch it again.

Is anyone here who's a fan of F&G also a fan of "The Wonder Years?" I ask because both shows somewhat remind me of each other...actually, some of F&G reminds me of Wonder Years and I was curious what people thought when you think back on both shows and their impact on you.

Wonder Years brings back so many memories of when I was a kid. I used to watch it all the time when I came home from school. I used to make up an excuse "I'm eating" on why I couldn't do my homework and watched it instead!
I do like Freaks and Geeks better though my copy was stolen! Once I buy or trade for it again I'll definitely give it another watch and hop in on the episode threads

I haven't actually seen any of the episodes cos it hasn't been on UK TV yet and blind bought it this weekend. I did it based on the fact that I liked the sound of it and 99% of the people who mention totally rave about it. Can't wait to see it and it sounds like a top notch boxset as well. The number of extras that the set comes with are amazing.

Does Freaks and Geeks get better?
ok, i very well might get flamed for this but here goes.
i bought the freaks and geeks dvd set as a blind buy based on everyone's opinions on how great it was. i have gotten through the first 2 disc (6 episodes) and so far it's okay but not great. does it get better? is it something that it's better as a whole as opposed to in parts?

I think it does get better, but I don't remember at what point it really hooked me. I think it's a very good show, and a lot of very talented people did some very excellent work on it. The fact that I grew up in that era, and that they got it right, for the most part, definitely influences my opinion of it. That said, it's no where near one of my all time favorite series. Some bits, especially in the early episodes, were a little too clunky or messagey for me. Even so, I thought it was always a lot better than most network TV, and the way it was treated was criminal.
Unless you're hating it, keep watching for a bit. It does improve, but not so much that you'll go from hate to love. You might go from "meh" to "hey, that's pretty good", though.

I got hooked pretty quick on the show. I do think that it improves as the show goes on, but if you have already finished one disc and don't really like it, then I'm not sure if it will ever really hook you. It's so short though that you might find it worth it just to continue and finish up the series just so you can make an educated conclusion about the entire run of the series.

Very few shows begin as strongly as Freaks and Geeks did.
And it just got better and better.
This was, for me, easily the most tragic cancellation of a tv show in my lifetime.

If you grew up in the late 70's early 80's then I'm sure you'd like it. If not then you probably wouldn't like it. I was born in 1979 and thought the series was boring. Just couldn't relate. Undeclared on the other hand was great because I went to college the same time as the show takes place.

I agree with the general sentiment - if you don't like it after the first few, you probably won't. I didn't think was all that great, but then again, I couldn't connect with the characters like others (it wasn't REAL enough to me). MSCL was, to me, a better teen drama. But I can see why F&G had its following. Although it was a comedy, I thought that Undeclared did it better.

Anyway, kevin75, I'd give it until the 2nd season. If you don't like it by then, you never will.

If you went to high school during the time period the show takes place in you might be able to relate and like the show more. How hard is that to understand?
But since the almighty Das doesn't understand I guess I'm just plain wrong.
