Anyway, off to my picks:
Alias - the show is a mess, continuity is all over the place, scenarios are unreal
Survivor - they call themselves "survivors"
Have they ever been in a concentration camp? Karen Sisco - Thank goodness ABC had the guts to cancel that dreck
and perhaps the worst of them all, Babylon 5

No way! That show ruled because of Willie Ames' wonderful portrayal of Buddy Lembeck!

Nicole Eggert.
(To be true, there is one exchange from that show I still remember that cracked me up the first time. Buddy: "What about that girl that said she loved me and gave me a flower?" Gwendolyn: "Buddy, she was a Khrishna.")

Secondly, have you seen this show lately? It's on DVD and I rented it from netflix recently. Nothing like cultural misunderstandings, bad Japanese pop music, borderline racist and sexist humor AND Sid and Marty Krofft stuff to make a great evening of entertainment!

There was a show (NBC IIRC) a couple years ago about a virtuous southern girl who gets a job as the secretary for a stereotypical mysogynist. I wish I could remember the name, but THAT was the worst show I had ever seen, ill-conceived and -executed at every turn.

There'll always be someone to defend a program others despise. ("The Munsters Today was robbed at Emmy time! Howard Morton's insightful portrayl of Grandpa ranks right up there with Olivier's Hamlet!")
Trouble is, there are so many programs that haven't seen the light of day since they ended their network runs.
Back in the 60's, game/quiz/panel shows were common on prime time TV. One such show was You're In The Picture, hosted by Jackie Gleason. Celebrity panelists would stick their heads (and sometimes hands) through an oversize comic cutout picture. The panelists had no idea what the picture was and would try to guess by asking questions of Gleason. It was supposed to be played for laughs with Gleason's wit carrying the show. The program was canceled after one airing (in January 1961) and Gleason, who was also the show's producer, spent the next week's episode apologizing for the previous episode.
The show's premise doesn't sound THAT bad, but it doesn't sound that interesting, either. When a show is cancelled after one episode AND the show's producer/star spends a half hour the next week, apologizing to viewers, it has to be bad. You ever hear of Irwin Allen, Glen Larson, Gene Roddenberry, Sherwood Schwartz, Sheldon Leonard, etc. apologizing for any of their shows?

I already posted some good candidates, but after some reflection, I believe I've figured it out. The absolute worst television show of all time is ... the local news.

"The Heights": How do you talk... to an angel...
Tough Crowd, with Colin Quinn is WAAAY up there. But then again, I think Quinn is talentless. Actually, that's too neutral... I think Colin Quinn is anti-talented. He has the ability to negate the talent of people on his show.

Sheesh, you people are way off base.
Look, just because you don't like a show like Friends doesn't mean that it is unbearably bad. There have been several shows that plumbed the depths of awfulness in ways never envisioned by the brave pioneers of network television.
Let me just throw out a few names:
Supertrain.
Enos
Manimal
The Magic Johnson Hour
Celebrity Boxing
Just to give a few examples.
