Is American Chopper the one where they do the motorcycles and the dad yells a lot? The AOL commercials are way funnier after actually catching an episode of that (my father-in-law loves it!)...

Yep. I find Paul Sr. and Paulie's interaction tiresome at times (though worth a chuckle), but the fabrication that Paulie and the other people at OCC do is fascinating. There is another show coming up called American Hotrods that promises to offer even more intricate constructions.
