I fell asleep twice trying to watch this on two separate occassions. It's not scary, and it's not funny, and the commercial abuse is absurd. I'm not even sure if I'm interested in the DVD.

"Who's gonna feed me now" made me chuckle.

It is kind of a true "mini-series" they have shown three of the total 15 hours

I agree that it feels like they are showing 34 mins of show and at least 26 mins woth of commercials

If you missed this one don't worry because regardless of how you feel about the current incarnation, I would recommend everyone check out the original. The best thing I can say for this version is that it is obviously partly HOMAGE to the groundbreaking first version.

The reason that this is so ironic is that its the dog's appetite that really started all of this. It was because he was eating the wacko's dinner that he hit the artist in the first place.

And the dog has no clue... he's still hungry.

The Kingdom 3/17

OK, way too many commercials!!

I thought the song and dance routine was, well... not very interesting and just trying to be odd for the sake of it. I guess we'll see later on if there's actually anything behind it.

Hick Maine scum!! - It wasn't from the roof of the hospital, but what can ya do? I wonder if this means he'll eventually
Spoiler:
turn Hook into a zombie too?

Anyone still watching this show besides me?

I am done with this show.....it is getting better but with all of the commercials...it is real hard to stay interested in the story. Fell asleep during last night's show and have now decided I will purchase the dvd when it is released.

I have episodes 2 and 3 saved on the TiVo and haven't had a big desire to watch them. I see based on the (lack of) responses, I'm not really missing much??

It takes a lot to get me to stop watching something so quickly, but yeah, I bailed on it too. I could find nothing in it that interested me.

TiVo would be the way to watch this show. I was timing the content vs. commercials last night, and they never made it to 10 mins before having at least 4 mins of commercials. It was as if everytime a normal program would switch scenes ABC decided to just go to a commercial. It makes it really hard to stay in the story.

If I wasn't such a fan of the original, I think I would have bailed by now myself. I figure we're about a 1/3 of the way through it already, so might as well stick to it.

I'm still watching it, but via TiVo so I can skip the commercials.

My wife is a big Stephen King fan, so she's really into it. I don't know if I'd still be watching if she weren't enjoying it so much.

I'm still watching. There have only been three episodes, I don't understand why everyone is giving up on it so early. I'm pretty interested to see where the series is going to go.

The show is finally getting interesting for me - but I just watched 2 hrs of it on Tivo VERY quickly. I thought it was just ME with the commericals.

Does anyone know if this is a true series or an extended mini-series.

immortal1 - technically this is episode 4. During the premier they showed episode 1 immediately followed by episode 2.

It's scheduled to end after 13 episodes, and was written with a specific beginning-middle-end.

However, ABC can always extend it into an actual series next season (with or without King's participation) should the ratings warrant it.

IMO episode 4 was much better than the first three, but after the second week I was ready to give up on it as well. And yes, I'm using Tivo which makes the commercials bearable.

You are right, my mistake. 4 episodes over 3 weeks so far.

Yep, posting this thread for myself after last week's results Someone's got to be watching it still!

I thought this was a pretty good episode over all. Seemed to be about setting up conflicts that are soon to come to a head. Missed the anteater.

YES! It's a great show. It's a shame people give up on it so easily. Stephen King has done it again.

And why is this named "The Kingdom" every week? Isn't the show called Kingdom Hospital?
