I liked the attempted spinoff we got a while back. hopefully this one will be decent.
also hope it doesn't water down the franchise too much

I think the chances of this one getting picked up are pretty good. Bakula is pretty well known & popular compared to John Corbett, who was the lead of NCIS: Red. Plus, Mark Harmon is supporting this one as Producer.Originally Posted by mikehunt

Zoe McLellan was cast as the female lead. Some of you may remember her from Dirty Sexy Money on ABC.

That's great news about Zoe, have always liked her since her days on JAG.

I really wish if they're going to re-use someone who was a regular that they make them the same character
there's no in universe reason Cotes couldn't have transferred to NCIS after her enlistment term was over
Same when they brought back Scott Lawrence for an episode but didn't have him playing Turner
that said, it'll be nice seeing Zoe McLellan again. I haven't seen anything she's done since JAG

Paige Turco has been set as a recurring opposite Scott Bakula in CBS’ NCIS planted spinoff, Executive produced by NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg and star Mark Harmon, the spinoff is set at the NCIS New Orleans office, which handles cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle. Turco, repped by Gersh and One Entertainment, plays Linda, the wife of NCIS Special Agent Pride (Bakula). Turco is a series regular on the forthcoming CW series The 100 and also recurs as Zoe on CBS’ Person Of Interest.

sucks that the actor that played Gibbs dad died. I figured that was the reason they killed him off on the show. Nice that Billy Dee came back
as for LA, Hetty better not be leaving

Glad the regular NCIS didn't end with a cliff-hanger. Nice to have a story with closure instead of having to wait 4-5 months before part 2.

Okay, this thread was mostly dead last season since NCIS isn't the most popular and forum friendly TV show here to talk about weekly. Even though it's still the top rated show in the country. Procedurals like this just aren't popular here, hence the series thread.
But I'll share some comments. I fell behind on season 11 and didn't finish it due to lack of time and DVR space. But NCIS is still one of my favorite shows. I bought the DVD for season 11 a few weeks ago with the full intention of binge watching and getting caught up. I watched 12 episodes during the TV season, so I spent the last 2 weeks watching and getting caught up with the last 12 episodes I missed. Finished the final 5 episodes of the season tonight.
Anyways, some brief thoughts:
The exit of Cote de Pablo was handled as best as they could
Enjoyed the introduction of Bishop. She's cute and quirky. Also, she's married, so that kills any potential sexual tension or romance with Tony.
Liked the back door pilot for NCIS New Orleans. Fun 2 parter. Bakula is a good lead and I like Zoe McLellan as the female lead. It was good that they made his character Pride have a past friendship with Gibbs. I'm glad they are filming the show in New Orleans. I'm definitely checking it out in a few weeks.
The season Finale which paid tribute to the passing of Ralph Waite and wrote in his character's passing on the show was really well done. Glad it was a self contained episode with no cliffhanger.
I'll try to stay more on top of season 12.

Agree on the first two points, couldn't disagree more on the NO pilot. Sucked so bad I will not even give the actual series a shot. May stlll keep watching the original and LA, but frankly they are slipping so bad they will be the first to get dropped if there are enough better series to take priority.Originally Posted by DJariya

I agree on all points except the New Orleans pilot. I will check out the new series, but the pilot didn't really grab me. I also didnt like the fact that Zoe McLellan isnt playing Coates.Originally Posted by DJariya

so far that's my only issue with the new show. Enough time has passed that the character could have been re-used and believably had gone from being an JAG's yeoman to an NCIS agent. I haven't watched last night's episode yet. Just finished the regular NCIS episode. the virus thing was kind of lameOriginally Posted by jjcool

Season premiere was pretty good. Little bit of the movie "The Edge" in this.
Gibbs was in badass form. Took out all those Russian Mercenaries and then gutted one of them with a hunting knife.
Looks like the leader of those mercenaries is on the loose. He'll probably pop up again later in the season.

I saw her name in the some of the pre show advertising, and was hoping that she would be playing Coates. It would just be a nice nod to those of us that have watched since JAG. It doesn't really affect anything, just a nice way to tie the whole universe together, especially after we saw AJ last season(?) on NCIS.Originally Posted by mikehunt

Anyone catch the name "Ralph" on the coffee cup Gibbs was drinking from in his workshop at the end of the episode? I am taking that as a nod to Ralph Waite, and hope it makes a regular appearance.

He certainly was. Always nice to see Gibbs go out in the field. As a 63 year old, Mark Harmon can still believeably pull that off.Originally Posted by DJariya

I hate it when characters do something so stupid it pulls me out of the show. The virus on the laptop was bad, but what really bothered me was Gibbs rolling the grenade under the bad guys' car instead of just killing the only bad guy still by the car so they could use the car themselves. Also surprised they left Sergei on the side of the road without checking to see if he was dead.

Mike45, are you also looking forward to NCIS: Quantum Leap? Dean Stockwell will have a recurring role during November sweeps. I was never a QL viewer (my brother was the fan of the show), however, I have enjoyed Dean Stockwell in pretty much all of the roles he has played.
