Of course it looks like Gibbs is aiming for Fornell but I'd think he shoot whoever was going to be getting out of the car. Either way, everything will be back to normal by the 3rd episode.

Yup, Cote de Pablo (Ziva) is leaving. It says they will wrap up her storyline.

Too bad, but she's been on 8 years (has it been that long???) so it might be good to new blood in there especially since IMO Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray (maybe) and, of course, Mark Harmon, are irreplaceable.

The show still gets great ratings, but its aging. They definitely need to get younger. Harmon won't be on the show forever.

So, does she get refrigerated or do they leave her ending open so she can come back to NCIS/Tony? It will be interesting to see what happens after this season. Will there be a rating backlash because of pissed off Tiva fans? Mark Harmon is also past the mandatory retirement age of every law enforcement agency.
This could also be good news for SHIELD.

How so? NCIS never was great with the 18-35 demo (or whatever it is). It's always attracted older viewers (see a few years ago when it went head-to-head against American Idol when it was the show to watch for younger viewers). Also, fans-wise, there seemed to be just as many Tiva haters as there were fans, lol.

NCIS got a 4.0 this last season behind only Grey's Anatomy in 18-49 viewers by .1% It also beat out Sunday Night Football in total viewers to be last seasons most watched program. It gets watched by plenty of younger viewers too.
So they've pissed off 50% of their viewership which could be really good for SHIELD.
fingers crossed

I was thinking, a good replacement would be Anna Torv. She's the right age (mid 30s) and has a bit of a following thanks to Fringe.

fingers crossedThis isn't to say "NCIS"'s viewers won't go down, in fact has no place but to go down given it was averaging something like 20m viewers a week which is pretty uncommon nowadays.
Personally, I don't have much interest in SHIELD (watching live) but will probably watch it when it comes to Blu-ray. But that's just me, I generally don't watch many shows live anymore, especially ones with season-long story arcs.

NCIS (CBS) -- Series Thread

Guest Stars Include Colin Hanks as Department of Defense IG Investigator Richard Parsons and Joe Spano as Senior FBI Agent T.C. Fornell
"Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" - An explosion at a D.C. event that results in a casualty connected to the agency changes Parsons' perspective on Gibbs and the NCIS team. Meanwhile, without badges, DiNozzo and McGee investigate the case as civilians, despite the case's dangerous ties to each of them, on the 11th season premiere of NCIS, Tuesday, Sept. 24 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Guest stars include Colin Hanks as Department of Defense IG Investigator Richard Parsons and Joe Spano as Senior FBI Agent T.C. Fornell.
SERIES REGULARS
Mark Harmon (NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs)
Michael Weatherly (NCIS Special Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo)
Cote de Pablo (NCIS Special Agent Ziva David)
David McCallum (Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard)
Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto)
Sean Murray (NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee)
Rocky Carroll (NCIS Director Leon Vance)

Figured that this at least deserves 1 series thread.
Cote de Pablo is leaving the show as some of you already know
Here is her replacement:

Emily Wickersham
She will make her debut in November. If CBS likes her arc, she will become a permanent replacement
Also,
Mark Harmon will be producing another NCIS spinoff. NCIS: New Orleans. The backdoor Pilot will air early next year.

As long as they never replace Abby, I don't care what happens to the rest of the cast.
Do we really need another NCIS spinoff?

I think with Harmon being involved with this New Orleans spinoff (and if they get Gibbs to guest star on it once in awhile), the chances are better it will get picked up.

Sec NavBye Matt Craven, we hardly knew ya here.
I'm sure they will cast another fairly well known B list actor to play the new Sec Nav later this season.
Interesting that Cote de Pablo did not appear in this episode. This was more of a set up for her goodbye next week.
The timeline for this episode was strange. The finale last season jumped forward 6 months with Gibbs holding the rifle, then they jumped back 4 months to tell this story.

Ziva's replacement is official. Emily Wickersham, who I posted about earlier in this thread was hired full time. Her first episode is November 19th.

Scott Bakula was just cast as the lead of NCIS New Orleans. He will be introduced in an episode of NCIS. Mark Harmon is Producer for the spinoff. If CBS picks up the show, it will air in the Fall.

Hopefully this one holds because I do like Bakula, though his character name (Pride) is a bit laughable.
