I have been a Mark Harmon fan since the first time I saw him in a movie. I'm not saying he's a great actor because I don't think he is. But there is just something about him. The only reason I watch NCIS is because Mark Harmon is the main character. I like the others in the cast; but, if Mark Harmon is no longer on the show, I will not watch it. What a shame.

Since they didn't kill him off, a return is likely. I wonder if he'll be back in the fourth season premiere with the excuse that he couldn't be away from the job... Of course, perhaps they didn't kill him since they already took out Sasha Alexander last season.

I have to think he'll be back. I read an interview with the woman who plays his boss Jenny on the show and she consulted Harmon when she was deciding whether to take the job on NCIS. He told her it was the best show he'd ever worked on or something to that effect. It would seem strange if just a year later he leaves.
Anyone else remember seeing Mark Harmon play QB at UCLA?

First time I think I've ever seen a show that was critical of both Clinton and Bush. Then again, since Clinton is so loved as a god in Hollywood, I don't think I've ever seen any show criticize him.

I think Gibbs will be back.
Awesome second half to compliment the first half. We got actual history on Gibbs instead of snipppets and we learned how he became Gibbs and over the last 3 years we've seen the making of yet another one in Tony.
Gibbs was 100% on target with his reasons for quitting. Makes you wonder what the actual military would do in the same situation.

Last year on 24 it almost looked like Keifer was leaving, soon as the new season starts he gets drawn back. I don't see the show surviving without Harmon. First episode next season I bet something will draw him back. That doesn't look good for Abby or Ziva or Ducky, it will probably be something bad happening to one of them that brings Gibbs back.....

I did see Harmon on Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show last week, and he said something about taking a short break with his family in Montana, but they had to be back to start shorting next season in couple of months. Maybe he was just saying that because the finale hadn't aired yet, but I really hope he was serious, and he'll be back next season.

^ That'd be a cool combo (just to see Haysbert on NCIS).
Also, what was the thing between Gibbs' doc (reminded me of Sean Bean) and Jenny (Lauren Holly)? Is there more to this guy or something? At first I thought the doc had something deeper going on with the story...

I finally got around to watching this episode. Whoa! It was intense, esp. at the end. Man, if Gibbs is gone, I do not know if I will con't to watch it. He was the glue for me. But they did do a good job of showing how Gibbs was sculpted and they sculpted Tony the same way this season. That to me suggests he's gone for good. But I sure hope I am wrong!

NCIS -- "Shalom" -- 9/19/06
Spoiler:
Should be interesting to see how they bring Gibbs back into the fold (at some point).
