I'll still watch it tho. Sam saying to the monk about her being shaved...bald...my jaw dropped.

Mike beating Montys ass was great!

I am opposed to a story-arc. This show is at its best as an escapist Love Boat style show.

I enjoyed it.

They would have been hauling me away in handcuffs from the racetrack if I was Danny, I would beat that guy to death.

The Asian masseuse brought the funny again. Her line about being tight was hilarious:lol:

Patman 12-16-06 08:47 AM

That Asian masseuse is all kinds of wrong (but funny as hell).

I didn't start watching the show till last season. So did Niki Cox's father sexually molest her or something or was he a beater?

Red Dog 12-16-06 09:38 AM

Is there is a Vegas casino where the waitresses dress up like that around x-mas?

IIRC, yes, he sexually molested her. That's why she told his wife in order to protect those kids.

Thanks. I also didn't know until this episode that Danny and Niki Cox's character knew each other since High School. I did know they had a prior relationship, but I didn't know it went back that far.

Can anyone post here what was in the gift Danny gave to Mary? I'm still on dial-up so trying to get on the Las Vegas' official site is a bit slow for me. Here's the link: http://www.nbc.com/Las_Vegas/. I'd really appreciate it :)

A picture of them together at Mary's 8th birthday.

Patman 12-16-06 05:05 PM

Danny had to give it to Mary, else Delinda would have thrown it out.

Snowmaker 12-16-06 08:30 PM

That was one of the best episodes. Funny, sad, touching, it captured the Christmas spirit very well.

Chauzer 12-20-06 07:17 PM

good episode, nikki cox's acting is so bad

movieking 12-21-06 06:34 AM

I really liked the episode as well. It's not Nikki Cox's acting that distracts me, it's her.....lips! Those things are huge!

Q: Why did Mary burn her lips on the tail pipe of Danny's car?

A: She was trying to blow it up!

I know, bad joke... I'll do a few "Hail Mary"'s to make up for it.

OK, question #1: did I miss them mentioning to go online to see what Mary's present was?

Question #2: How lame is that? Make you go online to watch 20 seconds of footage that should have just been included in the show?

movieking 12-21-06 08:48 AM

I didn't see it mentioned to go online to check out what the present was either.

Patman 12-21-06 10:07 AM

At the very end of the episode, there was a voiceover telling viewer to go online to find out what Danny gave Mary.

Red Dog 12-21-06 10:13 AM

So what was the present?

Don't you mean "given it to the garbage men"?

I'm not sure how I feel about this episode.

First of all, aren't "Secret Santas" supposed to be, umm, I don't know...secret? Yes, it's nitpicking...

Second of all, I really don't think Danny belongs with Delinda. I still think he and Mary are better together (in spite of whatever-the-hell-it-is that Cox is doing to herself).

Third, while I like practically all of the characters on this show, my favorite would be Sam. Yes, she's hot as hell (though she was hotter on GH), but I love her sarcasm. That said, the whole "Hey look! It's Santa!" ending was...I can't think of a word...

I have to agree that Danny seems better with Mary. I think once this series ends. I can't see it lasting more than one or two more seasons, although it seems to be getting OK ratings for a Friday night (between 8m-9m/week), but until it ends they're going to keep going back and forth between Mary and Delinda.

movieking 12-22-06 04:25 AM

I would have agreed, but Mary is too whiny now. She dumped Danny, and she is pissed that he is with Delinda? Too bad. When the show ends, I think that Danny will be with Delinda and Mary will have some white knight show up to save her.

TheMovieman 12-22-06 09:25 AM

True, Mary is whiny and perhaps you're right that a white knight will save her but they already did that with that rich lawyer (?) who conveniently was turned into a workaholic a-hole. Same kind of convenience as writing off Dean Caine's character (with a mere phone call) when it looked like they were starting something between he and Mary. Maybe he'll show up at some point in the future, but why set that dynamic up and just drop it?

Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. 12-22-06 09:29 AM

Mary and Mike will be together when it ends
