It’s not incumbent of us to know how the Shadows know about the Rangers, is it? I mean, if you go down that road, you’ll be reading “Nitpicker’s Guide to…” and wondering just how it is that automatic doors (in just about any scifi work) know when you’re done with them? Or making sure everyone gets their quotes correct?
It’s a small detail. Look at it from the POV of the viewer. We don’t see what goes on from the Shadow POV, which is as it should be. If we’re surprised they know about the Rangers, that is also as it should be, yes?

The main problem that lisadoris brings up is that Delenn has been going on and on about how it's super important that the Shadows don't know that they know they're moving again. That said, maybe the Shadows know that it's possible that the Rangers haven't learned about their reawakening yet, and are trying to eliminate/cripple the Rangers so they DON'T find out.

As a side note that has probably been addressed before...
What does everyone think of the promos for the episodes? That music.. that voice... sooooo not B5. I find the promos strangley amusing, and yet disturbing.
On an allllll neeewwww Babylon fiiiiiive.

Yeah. I saw one promo that had an ugly broad with big boobs, a cat suit, and a Three Stooges haircut getting oiled down…
…my bad. Wrong show.

We have his hopes high, but we can't get them TOO high, even for B5.
There are OTHER great episodes like this to come!

Spoiler:
In my mind, I think this is where the show peaked. Not that the show goes downhill from here or anything, but I don't think anything tops this episode.
As for convictions, it's not one of the greater episodes. But even mediocre episodes on B5 usually have some redeeming qualities. For me that would have to be Londo and G'Kar in the elevator. Peter and Andreas were just meant to act together. The 'A' story didn't do much for me.

I'm a true geek who goes to conventions. I had it made by a vendor at a Con. If I find they have an on-line site they sell from, I will email it to you.

Re: Convictions
I seemed to really like this one, mostly because of the elevator scenes. I was laughing out loud right along with G'Kar.
I also had an awful sinking feeling when I saw Lennier get caught in with the bomb- I thought for a second his character was done for, and was surprised how much it bothered me. In retropect, I think Lennier and Vir are two of my favorite characters on the show even though their parts are relatively minor.

The B5 promos were the cause of much mirth back when the series first aired. Especially when they used to use the same shot of G'Kar screaming for like *every single season one promo*.
We'd make up fake promos for episodes that never aired, and they always ended with "....shot of G'Kar screaming!"

Today's Episode: A Day in the Strife
**Can anyone actually remember this sitcom? Must not of lasted very long.
Sheridan and Ivanova try to deal with an association of cargo pilots. An alien probe makes first contact with the station. G'Kar's position among the Narn is threatened by the arrival of a Centauri-appointed liaison.
Vir's departure has, in part, a real-world cause: actor Stephen Furst is starring in a sitcom on the Fox network. He will still appear on Babylon 5 from time to time. **
Sheridan's reference to the probe as a "berserker" is probably a nod to Fred Saberhagen's "Berserker" novels, which feature huge automated war machines that seek out and destroy sentients.
A small gaffe: At the end of the episode, when the probe is headed away from the station, Sheridan asks the tech if there are any security bots in the area. The tech replies that there is just one, at 5000km. The next shot is of the bot in question, except that there are clearly 2 bots in the shot, and they look identical.
A related goof: Sheridan orders a securebot sent to look at the probe, but the display on the screen reads "Maintbot 12."

I thought "A Day In The Strife" was well done, although I figured the "trick" out about halfway through (probably later than many of you figured it out). Still, it didn't diminish my enjoyment of the story.

W00t! Mine finally arrived.
And, I’m suddenly feeling a little not-too-well. Maybe I should go home? I wouldn’t want to spread any kind of virus at the peak of the summer season.

Hey, I resemble that remark.
I may be leaving the office a little early today. I'll grab a sandwich, put some beers in a cooler (so as to avoid the necessity of getting up to go to the fridge) and sit down for a B5 marathon. I will have to take bathroom breaks, I suppose (no, I won't "go" in a jug, so don't even suggest it. )

Well, I've been glued to the TV since 4:00 (it's now about 9:00), and I just finished "Interludes and Examinations". I have run the emotional gamut. This story is incredible. Nothing is predictable (at least not in the tradition of TV shows, although all the clues are there, if you know where to look for them).
Why did I not watch this when it was first aired? No matter - I'm enjoying it tremendously now.
On to "War Without End". I think I know what's going to happen. I think.

Pseudo quote : Zathras used to being beast of burden to others. Is very sad life, will probably be very sad death, but at least there is symetry."
That character kills me.
