Top 5 favorite TV shows of all time?
The Babylon 5 thread prompted this one (and it doesn't look like it's been asked before, at least based on a six month search).
What are your Top Five favorite shows of all time?
Right now, I can't decide the order. But here are mine:
I'm just a bit of a sci-fi nut, no?

This is hard.
1. Law & Order (significant drop after S11)
2. Simpsons (significant drop after S8)
3. Star Trek TOS (significant drop after S2)
4. L.A. Law (significant drop after S5)
I don't if I can pick a 5th - there are so many contenders: Cheers, Seinfeld, All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, Sopranos, Oz, Dallas, Beverly Hills 90210, and others I am probably forgetting.

In no particular order:
Seinfeld
Scrubs
NYPD Blue
Ed
E.R.
Keen Eddie would probably make my list if Fox would actually give it a chance instead of taking a big crap all over it. I love this show - I knew I shouldn't have started watching it.

Definitely a tough one. I don't watch a whole lot of TV (especially dramas) so my exposure is somewhat limited. I don't know about "of all time," but my personal favorites in terms of *my* enjoyment are:
5. Hate to include "reality shows" but I really enjoy Amazing Race and Survivor. I'll put them in a tie for 5th place.
4. The A-Team
3. Friends
2. The Cosby Show
1. Seinfeld

Very tough in that most of mine aren't on the air anymore.
1. Sports Night
2. Seinfeld
3. Larry Sanders Show
4. Alias
5. West Wing (hopefully it won't go too far downhill without Sorkin)
Close runners up include Freaks & Geeks, The Amazing Race
Wonder Years, Cheers and Twin Peaks (1st Season)

A-ha! He said "favorite". Good. My "best" list is considerably different.
In no particular order:
The Twilight Zone
Sports Night
The A-Team
Babylon 5
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Star Trek
For me, a "favorite" is a show where I could:
1) Watch the entire series, one episode after another, doing nothing else but eating and sleeping, and when finished, watch it again ... and again ... and again ... and never tire of it.
AND
2) Pick any single episode and watch only that episode multiple times in succession without tiring of it.
Every show has its share of stinkers -- except SportsNight, which is a f'ng perfect show from start to finish -- so it takes a special quality to be able to pick the worst episode of the bunch and not tire of watching it.
For better or worse, these 6 shows meet those qualifications for me.
