The thing is, I don't know of many Asian comedians who are funny. I really get annoyed by Margaret Cho, and other than her the only other Asian comedian I've seen is the guy with the deep country accent who used to do NBC's Friday Night thing. The thing that bugs me about Asian comedians is that almost every one of them have to resort to doing the Asian-American mock accent to get the audience to really laugh. It's like the audience expects it, and otherwise would be disappointed.

(btw, I'm Asian)
The same could be said for fat people who make a lot of jokes centered around the fact that they are fat.

(btw, I'm not fat)

I don't think that Dat is the only one who isn't breaking new ground.

I look forward to seeing them have more time to focus on the others as more people leave.

I thought Ralphie was hilarious, and while Rob was also funny, Ralphie had him in my book.....I just keep waiting for that Knob Vos to get the hell of the show. I can't stand that guy. He's an idiot.

I watch this show very rarely, and usually just when it's on Comedy Central and I'm too lazy to change the channel.

I'm rather disappointed that Dat wasn't kicked off. I don't care for him, and I like Maragret Cho. And I'm Asian too. Maybe his whole intense studying approach to everything is just turn off, or maybe he's just not funny.

Tess is by far, my favorite, although she isn't the most original voice out there. Rich Vos was old and not that funny, either.

I figured that Rob was doomed when he pulled out the semi-colon jokes ... not that they weren't funny, but they don't fly as well with an audience as the black/fat jokes that Ralphie used.

I loved Rob's act. Thought it was great.

But knew he was out due to Ralphie's safe unoriginal material that will win a "crowd" over anytime a lot easier.
Easier to "laugh" at vs. thinking about why it's funny.

1/2 the crowd probably doesn't know what a semi-colon is!
Rob has some original out there stuff, I love it.

While I am certainly not a fan of the "Yeah, I'm fat, and I talk like I'm black 'cos I'm from da hood!" comedy of Ralphie, Rob didn't exactly win me over either. The whole "Bobbert" thing didn't do anything for me, and I can't remember the last (or first) time I've ever been amused by punctuation.

Does anyone know who actually wins this show? Is it happening right now? (are they currently living in a house somewhere at this moment, and the shows are recorded and edited and then run in a timely fashion?)

I'm just wondering because
Spoiler:
I heard that the winner will get a stand-up special, and I've already seen that Rich Vos had one of these on Comedy Central, and he has been on Quinn's show a bunch, so my guess is that he wins, assuming that this contest is acually over

Rob was funnier than Ralphie - Ralphie's act is stale.

TheMadMonk, when Jay Mohr was the co-host on Jimmy Kimmel Live the week that Last Comic standing debuted, he said the last episode will be live and the viewing audience will choose the winner (at least have some role in it).

while I love Dat and his act, it gets old fast with the impression.
ONE TRICK PONY,that isn't funny in real-life.

Dave is a MUCH FUNNIER comic overall and a funnier person in general.
Sad that he won.

But can see how he did, since it was the audience first time seeing Dat. It's funny when it's "fresh".

I thought d.pham's set was stale compared to his other two sets (the first two sets that got him on the show). Dave is a much funnier guy and I hope that comedy central picks him up to do something since the guy is really funny. Not the person I would have wanted to see go.

The audience was the stupidest audience I have ever seen. Dave Mordal was so much funnier and original than Dat Phan. The audience were idiots. 70 to 30% ? I did not laugh once during Dat Phan's stand up.

In the beginning I liked Dat Phan, but the others are right. You're not just funny when you do stand up, you should be funny all of the time, and Dave Mordal was funny all of the time. He was the funniest in the house and he was the funniest doing stand up.

Those audience members should be shot, and if there are any of them that voted for Dat Phan reading this, e-mail me and we can discuss your stupidity.

I am pissed. Now I really don't want to watch The Last Comic Standing, because the funniest guy was voted off.

F***ing IDIOTS!

Dat Phan relied too much on the asian voice. It got annoying after like the first minute. I was kind of happy to see him win though, just to stick it to the other *ssholes in there.

They may have been *ssholes for ganging up on him, but The Last Comic Standing should also be the Funniest One Standing!

I agree, Dat was crap tonight. Even though his set was new to that audience, it was old after the first minute. I don't think that Ralphie is funny because he focuses too much on being fat and Dat is not funny because he just jokes about being Asian.
Dave is funnier overall and was funnier tonight.

Dave was absolutely robbed. The only thing I can think that caused the audience to vote for Dat over Dave was that Dat was loud and energetic whereas Dave was subdued. Dat, perhaps, just seemed funnier to the audience. Clearly, though, Dave's routine was funnier. Dat just pretty much made the same joke over and over again.

$10 says he'll do the same thing again next time.

Ack, five minutes into this show, I want Dat to get run over a bus. The whole "I love people" and "I save it for the stage" bs just ticks me off. The disadvantage of being a West Coaster is knowing that he makes it through another week. Damn it all!

Edit: Oh, good lord. The more I watch, the more hatred I feel towards him and his stupid kung-fu organization focus stuff. I'm getting way too into this. Stop me before I end up stalking the contestants!

You could tell early on in the show Dat was going to win by the way they edited the episode. All of the focus on him being the underdog and overcoming the bullies and blah blah blah..... Dave hit the nail on the head, Dat is young and energetic and likeable which tends to go over well with the unwashed masses.

As for the stand-ups I dont find any of their acts particularly funny(although I havent seen Geoff perform yet). Dave is very funny in the house but his stand up act wasnt anything special. Dat is at least consistent. He is not funny in real life and not funny on stage.

Well, the voice-over from the previous week said that the showdown will surprise you. As soon as Dat lost the immunity, I knew that he would beat the other person in the showdown.
I still think that going last will give you an extra 15% if you were remotely funny. I didn't think Dat was that funny. Sorry to see Dave go over Tess or Jeff or Ralphie.

going last really does have an effect on the outcome as it's the comic that is freshest in the mind of the audiance. oh well. It sucks to see dave go. I would much rather see Tess go.

I liked Dat from the start and I felt sorry for him last week but he was just too annoying this week. I feel sorry for the comics since the have to deal with him for at least one more week. It's a shame that someone funny had to leave so soon, but hopefully Dave will still have a good career since he at least got some attention on the show.

I read that they get 10 minute sets at the end to decide who gets voted off and they edit it to the 3 minutes or however long they get. That might be why voting is different from what people feel by seeing the tv show. They edit their routines.

Then we should get to see the whole 10 minute routine for each comic! 10 minutes of Dat Phan doing the same thing over and over again, ouch!

I'm still so seething mad about this, that I can't sleep!
