Wow, I'm shocked that ABC decided to bring back "The Practice" after what felt like the definitive goodbye. Oh well -- I'll see where they go with the show now. . .

Re: Dragnet, acc'd to tvguide.com:

According to uber-producer Dick Wolf, the show is being retooled so that Ed O'Neill's Joe Friday is now mentoring a troop of "under 35" Robbery-Homicide-Division trainees. Wolf promised hot casting announcements for these new roles throughout the summer.
I never like to hear the word 'retooling' for shows I like. Maybe those of you who don't like Ethan Embry will get your wish.

I wasn't a huge fan of Embry but I think he got a lot better as the season went along. He was better then the female partner they gave Friday when Embry was hurt and I don't like the sound of their retooling plans.

I liked Embry and the Frank Smith character. I wonder if one of the new young RH detectives will be Bill Gannon.

Me neither. I hope Ed's role doesn't get reduced too much, as to focus on the trainees.
