Agreed.

Just ignoring the interviewer's questions and going off on tangents does not constitute steamrolling someone.

Nice to see Franken coming back after pulling himself off the show after Bill's, "I'm a House N****," moment.

Yeah, I kept waiting for her to speak up more. It can be hard to get a word in edgewise on those panels if you don't shoulder your way in to the conversation.

I agree. He's very quick-witted, though sometimes he starts to ramble too much..

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

I know it's probably hard to get any Trump supporters on his show, but it's really lacking lately without a diverse panel. Pretty much every week he has 2 Liberals and a Republican Never Trumper who probably hates Trump more then the Liberals do! It's really boring when they all agree and just bitch for an hour about Trump as it turns into a therapy session. I'm surprised he doesn't have Ann Coulter on more, or other Trump supporters who love to go on shows like this?

And Maher's final thought showed why he is the only one out of the Liberal Late Night crew who has the balls to call out the Democratic Party why they keep losing.

I think that's why Bill has started to go to having only 2 panelists sometimes. With 3, one always seems to get short changed. Adding Brand didn't help

She was probably still recovering from the beating she took on twitter earlier in that day when someone posted old tweets from her trying to kiss up to Milo and Coulter.

He's also the only one who took them to task for pussy footing around the Muslim connection to Terrorism. San Bernardino and Fort Hood was not workplace violence, it was not gun violence, it was extremist, Islamist terrorism. He is one of those guys that even when I am disagreeing with him, I like his take on the subject.

Maher will make a joke about his hiatus and how he missed out on so many Trump jokes. He will say something like 'Trump's North Korean Nuclear Button' Tweet is so 2 weeks ago!

Billy Bush is going to be on tonight. That could be interesting. I haven't really followed... has he made appearances since the pussy grab audio leak and getting fired?

The way Billy Bush was treated over the whole pussy thing was really goddamned unfair.

He's with a VIP interview who made a gross and stupid offhand comment to him. What was he supposed to do? Chastise Trump? He probably would have been fired for pissing off someone higher up the food chain. Just another case of the little guy taking the fall while the assholes at the top get to do whatever they want to.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

Back when all that shit was said, people were saying and doing all sorts of things with little threat of problems or retaliation. A Barbara Walters, a Tim Russert would have called him on it in their environment. But what was basically a fluff piece, a comment not uncommon for the day, and an interviewer that carried no weight whatsoever, all the guy could do was laugh it off.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

Billy Bush got a raw deal and I didn’t like that doucebag comedian on the show calling him out. I’m glad Bill Maher shot back at him saying, “You’ve never had any lockeroom talk in your life?” Of course he gave the PC answer that he changed and doesn’t do it anymore which is total BS.

I have stated from the beginning that I’m not a fan of releasing ANY off the record conversations because everyone of us would be embarrassed by something we’ve said in life. Whether it’s about a family member we don’t like, a person we’d like to go to bed with, or a friend we have a criticism about, there is a reason we say it in private. It’s no different then how I act when I go out with my buddies in a Saturday and then when I’m with family on Thanksgiving. Im not going talk with my family at Thanksgiving the same way I talk with my buddies at the bar on a Saturday night.

And for Billy Bush to get exiled from the industry for just being a person who was on the receiving end of that shows that PC culture has engulfed our society. I give Maher credit last night for trying to cut through the BS but there are too many easy applause lines these days that override as the comedian and female panelist exploited.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

I remember one time I was on a business trip with my business partner. We were in the car heading back to the hotel after dinner. He had been on the phone with his girlfriend that I can attest he had never cheated on in spite of many opportunities while on these trips. After the call we start talking about a rather comely young secretary of our customer who was a the dinner. Naturally it was late, it was just the two of us, so we were engaging in locker room talk. He said "I'd let her blow me." His girlfriend was still on the phone. This was before the smartphones and he thought he had hung up. Boy did he have some explaining to do.

I think 99% of all men have at one time or another engaged or been part of some braggadocio. Most of the time it's just all BS. But certainly we take on a persona in one on ones or small groups of guys that we wouldn't engage at a dinner party with our wives or in mixed company. For a senior or late middle aged man to be engaging in that talk with an interviewer is childish and boorish. However my first thought is if you eliminate any guy who did a little bragging he shouldn't have you won't have much of a pool to draw from. If you fire every person who heard such bragging and didn't immediately reprimand him, then everyone is now fired. Bush is a no name underling who didn't stand a chance in that situation. I think he got the shaft. I think it's like internet balls. People say a ton of shit under the cover of anonymity on the internet they would never say in person.

I have a friend who hates Trump and she posts every negative thing about Trump on her Facebook page she can. When Trump used the phrase "shithole" country in what was supposed to be a closed door meeting, she was up in arms. Well she goes to Jamaica on vacation. I asked her how she liked it. The resort was nice, the rest of the country is a shithole. Don't run for office Missy you'll be in trouble.

Completely. He didn't grab any pussy, but the guy who did, and said he did, got to be president.
