Issa seemed to do A LOT of avoiding the question by cracking jokes. He knows there's only so much time on a show like this, so his best strategy is to stall.

I think the show is off this week, but not for sure. Still can't get over the overtime on Youtube with Milo what's his face from a few weeks ago. Just watched it again.

I couldn't finish it. What with Bill's "bro" moment during the show with Milo and his continued inability, or unwillingness, to take him on during overtime, I thought it was one of his worst moments. It was made even worse when Bill took a media victory lap for Milo's fall--something he had absolutely nothing to do with--Milo was mostly brought down by dismissing child molesting--something which, as we saw in a link here, Maher had done himself in the past. I think this whole affair was Maher's lowest moment.

Been watching Bill Maher since the PI days of the late 90s.

I enjoy Real Time, I like Maher and most of what he has to say.

The whole Milo thing, and especially his taking credit for his downfall is beyond embarrassing, and I think reveals unpleasant things about Maher that will forever mar () my enjoyment of the show.

He should be ashamed of himself.

Milo was still a guest on his show. He can't totally shit on him. He should have hit him much harder, but he didn't, and I'm ok with that.

Shit on him? How about just challenge him instead of practically embracing him? Maher's worst moment.

Re: Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - Series Discussion Thread

Essentially, all liberals. I mean, I know Andrew Sullivan has traditionally cast himself as a conservative, but he has little in common with the current Republican party leadership.

That panel could lead to some interesting conversation depending on the topics. Even though I'm not in MA, Barney Frank is one of the few people I wish were still in government.

Maybe they'll bring up the travel ban (2.0, which there's currently an injunction against) and Bill can say, "On that one topic, Trump may have the right idea," and get Barney fired up. They've gone pretty hard at each other at times in the past.

This will be an interesting show as he finally has on some 'real' Trump defenders to keep the conversations interesting. Stone has been friends with Trump for years, and Santorum has been a staunch defender of him since he dropped out of the race.

There is nothing more annoying on Bill's show when he either has all Liberals on the panel and they just bitch about Trump, or he has the phony Conservatives like Andrew Sullivan (I can't remember the last time he actually voted Republican so he needs to stop saying he is one) who also bitch about Trump. Whether you like Trump or not, each week he needs to have a Pro-Trump Panelist(s) to keep the debate from just being a Trump Therapy session.

Totally agree. I basically fast forwarded the entire episode last week. Just a bunch of bitching and zero substance. I can get that on Fox News 24/7.

Agree, should make for interesting conversation this week. I watched last week's panel and bored of it pretty quickly.

I was waiting for someone to come from backstage and take JAV off in shackles. Surprised Roj didn't notify his bud and have someone make some fast calls to ICE.

Fwiw, I thought last week's show was excellent! That final new rule exposing Trump as the cheap huckster that he is was priceless!

Well, Bill continues to do the program too high. During his intro with the first sit down guest he mixed up "the Obama administration" with the Trump administration. And then when he went to his chair on the raised platform he stumbled. How many times has he, or a guest had trouble on that set? You could make a drinking game for it.

That new stage is a lawsuit just waiting to happen.

I now tune in each week waiting for someone to push their chair back too far and go ass over teakettle.
