What's the joke about Marge thinking it was 302? Obviously, there are two other shows or something she's referring to, but I can't figure it out (I know, I'm dense).

While FOX is advertising this as the "300th Episode", it is in fact the 302nd episode. They just screwed the order around for some reason. It's sort of an in-joke by the creators/producers/whatever.

I don't think I laughed once at the 2 Simpsons episodes.. nearly peed my pants when that Married.. with Children show came on. Of course I may be a little biased, but I USED to like The Simpsons.. what was it, 10 years ago or something.

I don't understand why so many people regularly post that the show isn't funny, or that it's stupid or lame. I know it's all opinion, but if it is so bad - why watch every week?

Personally, the show always makes me laugh out loud, and that's all I'm looking for.

I really enjoyed both shows last night. I realized at the last minute that the third show was also new, so I taped it. The rock'n'roll camp (a rerun) that started off the Simpsons Threepeat was also a good show. All in all, I thought that they were three solid episodes.

The "300th" episode wasn't very good. Started out great with the MJ and butterfinger things, but quickly got too dark. These characters simply do not act like they are supposed to anymore. Do the writers even care? These characters out and out hated each other for a good portion of the show, and that's not what the Simpsons is supposed to be about.

I'm getting tired of Homer doing that thing where he repeats what he says threateningly under his breath. Once in a while is funny, but he does it all the time, and without purpose.

The spelling bee episode was pretty good. Nice to see Barney's sobriety (pointless except for that one episode) come to an end. We have McRibs around here now (can't stand 'em) so that storyline was pretty topical and funny for me.

And I finally got to see the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp episode, which was very good.

Some people (myself included) think that Homer running around screaming in pain for 22 minutes is not really funny. As for why people still watch it every week, it's probably the fact that Al Jean is the executive producer, not Mike Scully.

BTW, I still The Simpsons is a funny show, just not quite as polished as it was about six years ago.

THE SIMPSONS ARE BACK!!!

I thought both of them were very funny. So many great one liners.

The only thing that bothered me was seeing Homer's grave, i dunno i don't like the thought of him being dead even though it is a cartoon.

I don't watch every week. I just happened to catch the 2 "new" episodes as I was pre-empting to record the MwC special. But, it is painfully obvious when I do stumble across a new episode of The Simpsons how NOT funny it is. And to me, it's hurts my memory of what was a great show.

I know the show has always been animated, but when it became a cartoon is when it lost all of it's charm and humor.

The two "uncounted" episodes were seasonal eps, like the Xmas special, I think...

I thought it was way, way better than last week's episode. I do agree that it was way too dark, and that there is little that's endearing about Homer anymore. But it did have some funny moments. I wonder how Mcdonalds doesn't sue over that whole Ribwich thing, though... and I was expecting that cute kid to have some dark side to him. oh well.

I liked them but the ending of the second new episode -- what the hell was the point of the giant Lisa Simpson statue ending? That was just bizarre, it made both my wife and I go "huh??" Strange ending without a real point to it.

Did anyone else think the Simpsons 300 episode would be more of an event? I don't know, maybe I just fell for the hype. But it coinciding with the Married with Children reunion, having promo's for the 300th episode include people like Bernie Mac and Frankie Munoz and others congratulating the Simpsons, stating it would be a 90 minute episode and "14 years in the making..."

I'm not sure what I expected. Maybe some interviews with people behind the scenes. I guess I just expected more of a celebration, because that's how it was advertised. Instead it was just another episode.

Either way, did anyone expect more?

From the ad's I expected more aswell. though the two new episodes were great I could do with a behind the making sort of 30 minute episode.

I still watch in hopes that through some gash in space-time I'll be magically transported back to the quality of seasons 3-8.

It's still funnier than most shows on TV today, but I think to call people Simpson's haters because we see tarnish on the show would be as insulting as calling people who see no faults Simpson's apologists.

Hey, if the show is still exactly as funny for you now as it was 6 years ago, then more power to you. I wish my sky was the same colour as yours.

The Lisa episode was better than the Bart episode! The world has gone topsy-turvy!

I dont watch every week, this week i watched because i knew the "Married with Children" reunion was going to be on and i was too damn lazy to change the channel when eating dinner.

I watched 3 episodes of "The Simpsons" and laughed like 5 times.

I watched the reunion show and laughed almost through the entire show.

Ok my local FOX and FOX Dallas didn't show the spelling bee episode. I caught it on FOX LA. That was very funny.
