You don't have to rearrange your schedule... they are all posted on the Cartoon Network website the day after they air.

wmansir 11-12-03 01:32 AM

Thanks for the link. I'll have to check them out later.

That was the first one I've bothered to watch.

God, it was dull.

bboisvert 11-12-03 01:02 PM

Yeah, I have a feeling that Chapter 3 will work a lot better when watched with all the others together. By itself, it was pretty monotonous. That's the danger of having 3-4 minute programs that don't air back-to-back, I guess.

I've been pretty happy with it so far, aside from the boring 3rd part. But, again, I suspect this will be less of a big deal when we have all 20 of them strung together.

Morf 11-12-03 01:31 PM

I've been treating these as a comic strip that I read one panel a day. As such, I truly love these shorts. Great animation and sound effect integration.

Jason 11-12-03 08:37 PM

Finally got to see one of these tonight (Chapter 4?). Too short. Reminded me of watching the animatrix, although it was nowhere near as good as the Second Renaissance.

Astro 11-17-03 08:24 PM

Is anyone still watching these?

I've enjoyed the previous two quite a bit; maybe I'm just a sucker for mysterious Sith women.

Question: Have Jedi levitated in the Star Wars books? I was surprised to see Count Dooku float down from the balcony he was standing in.

Jackskeleton 11-17-03 08:58 PM

the last two have been good. atleast it's starting to get a bit more interesting

Dunno how accurate it is -- in the "spirit" of the world, but games like Jedi Knight and others have included Jedi "Jump" for quite awhile. You can jump further and not take as much damage falling greater distances. That's probably stretching canon though -- "quoting" a videogame ;p

Astro 11-17-03 09:43 PM

It wasn't really a jump though... he rose into the air while standing perfectly still, floated over the ledge, and then slowly glided to the ground without changing his posture at all. I thought it was pretty cool...

Luke was lifting rocks on Dagobah. Yoda lifted Luke's X-Wing out of the swamp. I guess Dooku can lift himself... I've just never seen or read about it being done.

Jackskeleton 11-17-03 11:46 PM

the jedi jump is there. how do you think obi jumped in episode 1 from platform to platform and fell without suffering much damage.

Astro 11-17-03 11:57 PM

I was referring to Dooku, not Obi-Wan.

Jackskeleton 11-18-03 12:06 AM

yes, but I'm saying since they have the ability to force jump and force float down this is just another side of it. a bit slower then expected but just using force like everything else

Lara Means 11-18-03 12:34 AM

Vader did his force float while dueling with Luke in Empire.

Yeah, just in time for the first wave to finish in a couple days. :(

Bust 11-19-03 07:56 PM

Loved the Obi-Wan vs. Dirge in Chapter 8, didn't so much like the one in Chapter 9. What was up with the super monster version of Dirge? What is he anyway? The freaking HULK?!

Obi-Wan driving his speeder bike up the side of building was pretty neat.

Tuan Jim 11-19-03 09:39 PM

Shades of Akira in the last ep = homage?

Jackskeleton 11-20-03 12:36 AM

Didn't like the battle in 9 but enjoyed the one in 8. the goop stuff bugged me a bit.

outcastja 11-20-03 12:51 AM

Is there any chance they will play the whole thing before Episode III, like at a midnight showing or something.

bboisvert 11-20-03 03:05 PM

It looks like the show's a hit:

All of the first ones put together is only about 30 minutes runtime. I think the assumption is that they will wait until the 2nd batch is done and release them all together. Then there will be 60 minutes of content + extras...

BlueJayWay 03-08-04 04:04 PM

Copied from this article are the descriptions for chapters #11-20:

Chapter 11
Anakin continues his pursuit of Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress, disobeying Obi-Wan's strenuous orders not to do so. During an intense dogfight, he tracks her through hyperspace to Yavin 4. Obi-Wan Kenobi, who is acting as a General of the Army of the Republic, dispatches a platoon of ARC Troopers to support his Padawan.

Chapter 12
Jedi Mace Windu leads his troops in an intense battle on the desert planet of Dantooine. The Droid Army counters the offensive by the Army of the Republic with an enormous vessel that releases a seismic charge, devastating the Clone troops. Mace Windu finds himself alone and surrounded by the massive Droid Army — without his lightsaber.

Chapter 13
Mace Windu continues to battle the Clone Army singlehandedly on Dantooine. Facing an overpowering enemy assault, the unarmed Jedi Master must rely on the Force as he seeks to thwart the Droid Army.

Chapter 14
On the icy planet of Ilum, chameleon-like Droids are planting explosives in the sacred Jedi Ice Caverns, the source of the crystals that power every Jedi's lightsaber. Jedi Lurninara Unduli and Barris Offee are on Ilum and engage in a ferocious battle but are trapped after an explosion. Yoda, aboard Padme's ship, senses these two Jedi are in trouble and decides he must help rescue them.

Chapter 15
Padme's head of security, Captain Typho, believes that going to Ilum is too dangerous. He tries to convince Yada not to go, but the ancient Jedi Master is committed to rescuing Luminara Unduli and Barris Offee. Once the ship lands on Ilum, Yada sets out in the snow, alone. To enter the sacred cave, he must first defeat a battalion of Droids.

Chapter 16
Padme is worried about Yoda, so she leaves the ship and heads out into frigid Ilum with C-3PO and R2-D2 to find him. As they approach the cave, they tangle with Droid soldiers. Inside the cave, Yoda tries to free the trapped Jedi. The entire crew then must battle Droid forces as they return to Padme's ship.

Chapter 17
Back on Yavin 4, Anakin has cornered his would-be assassin, Asajj Ventress. Now the battle between these two highly skilled warriors truly begins.

Chapter 18
Anakin and Asajj continue their hand-to-hand duel on Yavin 4. Ventress, an expert fighter who battles using two lightsabers at the same time, proves to be a formidable foe for the young Jedi.

Chapter 19
The battle between Asajj and Anakin becomes more intense. Anakin, filled with rage, attacks his foe, the Dark Jedi and ally of Count Dooku, mercilessly. Still, she is a crafty fighter with a few tricks of her own.

Chapter 20
Obi-Wan Kenobi celebrates a successful campaign on Muunilinst, and the Army of the Republic has taken many prisoners. When Anakin returns from Yavin 4, the Jedi Master upbraids his charge for disobeying a direct order. Still, Obi-Wan is impressed with Anakin's bravery. Meanwhile, on a distant planet, a band of Jedi Knights faces a mysterious and powerful enemy.

Plus there's a new interview with producer Genndy Tartakovsky here.

Anyone know when they'll be showing them in Canada?

Clone Wars 3rd season a possibility

More on Clone Wars Season 3
Sat, May 08, 04 05:11:08 AM EDT

Cartoon Network's Art Director, Paul Rudish was recently interviewed by Star Wars en Direct during one of their radio shows. Here's what he had to say about the possibility of another season of the Clone Wars cartoon.

SWD: Is there any chance that a third season of Clone Wars will be made?

PAUL RUDISH: There are talks happening between the powers that be, and what happens, I don't know yet because I'm farther down the ladder.

SWD: Is there time to do one more season before EP3?

PAUL RUDISH: Well that's just it, they better decide soon...
Interesting stuff. I would love to see another season.

resinrats 05-10-04 03:38 PM

Why not, they just have to make enough animation to equal one episode of any other series.

I wish they would drop the 3 minute format and at least make them long enough to show 2 per show. 10-13 minutes each plus commercials=1/2 hour shop. The current one were very rushed because they were so short.

grunter 05-10-04 04:11 PM

Wherever will they find the time to come up with another WHOLE HOUR of animation?

Fok 05-10-04 11:35 PM

It will probably be more interesting if they make them after Ep3 is released. By then all the questions will be answered allowing more interesting storylines.

Jackskeleton 05-11-04 02:17 AM

Yeah, but by then a lot of jedi's will be done with. Perhaps that would be an interesting turn of events. A series showing the end of all jedi's.

Consider lucas snagged him away from Samurai Jack, might as well put him to good use.

Shemp 05-11-04 09:18 AM

There are serious talks going on about this with Lucas wanting this to happen more than Cartoon Network.

The idea right now being that they would produce five 11-minute episodes that would be a direct ramp-up to Episode III in terms of plot. Meaning, these 5 episodes would tie directly into the beginning of the movie. The plan is for them to premiere in April '05.

From what I understand the creators of 'Clone Wars' would produce these as well.

buzzdalf 05-11-04 10:59 AM

I hope they make this!!

SunMonkey 05-11-04 11:28 AM

I have yet to get to see Season 2, but I'd like to see this eventually.

I think he meant that it could still be set before episode three, but if it aired after it's release the plot lines could be more detailed and in depth as there'd be no concern about spoiling any plot points in Ep. 3.

Ranger 05-11-04 11:52 AM

I dunno. I think they gave us enough to lead us to episode III. But I'd still love to see more cartoons.
