Hell, I want to see a Star Wars cartoon series that takes place between Episodes III and IV. Gimme gimme!

I think they'd be pretty foolish not to release the DVD shortly before Ep 3 hits theatres. I wish they'd at least get the first season out ASAP as I've only seen them on the computer. I want them on my WS tv in 5.1 dammit!
|
milo - I'm not advocating anything, but I heard there is a very well done fan made DVD for the complete series out as a bit torrent. Anamorphic, commentaries and everything.
It might hold some folks over till they actually get around to releasing this. |
Thanks buzz, I'll try to see what I can dig up.
And Theforce.net is now reporting that March will see five 12 minute episodes. Very exciting news IMHO. I hope these do even better than the first ones, I'd love to see animators take on some stuff like Shadows of the Empire and the Dark Empire trilogy, or even Zahn's trilogy. |
Give me moooore yeeeessssssssss

June 08, 2004 Following the immense success of the first 20 chapters of the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Cartoon Network will continue the saga with five new expanded chapters beginning March 21, 2005. Once again helmed by Genndy Tartakovsky, Star Wars: Clone Wars continues where Chapter 20 left off, but in a new format. Whereas previous installments were just three minutes long, each new chapter will be 12 minutes, promising viewers four times the excitement, adventures and intrigue as they lead into the long-awaited finale to the saga, Star Wars: Episode III. Tartakovsky, the talent behind the critically acclaimed Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory, will return as director, co-screenwriter and executive producer of the new Star Wars: Clone Wars animated mini-series. Cartoon Network will air the new chapters from March 21 to March 25 with limited commercial interruptions. These new installments are planned to appear online to members of Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club. The first twenty chapters -- still available for download to Hyperspace members -- featured such fabled characters as Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé Amidala, Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker in the ongoing battle of the Army of the Republic against a vast uprising spearheaded by the Separatists and their massive droid armies. Chapter 20 introduced viewers to General Grievous, military leader of the Separatist armies, and a major character in next year's Star Wars: Episode III. The new mini-series will include an expanded role for Grievous. "We were really impressed with the quality of the animation and the storytelling abilities that Cartoon Network and Genndy brought to the first Star Wars: Clone Wars episodes, and clearly viewers were, too, because the feedback we received about the micro-series was fantastic," said Howard Roffman, President of Lucas Licensing. "This new mini-series will bring even more depth and excitement to the story of the Clone Wars and will lead viewers right into the adventures of Star Wars: Episode III." "It is a tremendous honor for Cartoon Network to have been selected by Lucasfilm to produce these new Star Wars stories, because the Star Wars saga is one of the most popular and successful entertainment properties in the world," said Jim Samples, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Cartoon Network Worldwide. "Genndy thoroughly enjoyed the collaborative relationship we built with Lucasfilm during the production of the first Clone Wars episodes, and is terribly excited now to be entrusted with furthering the storyline and working with such popular and enduring characters. This will truly be a 'must-see' for Star Wars fans and animation lovers." |
I think it would be also cool if they made the a Star Wars movie with the using the same CGI format as Final Fantasy.
Either way, I'm looking forward to another season. |
This is very good news to me, as the Clone Wars shorts were better than the previous 2 films, IMO. I look forward to the eventual dvd release of the previous seasons, and to watching the new season next spring.

"Clone Wars" season 2 details
Genndy Tartakovsky, producer of the animated Clone Wars series for Cartoon Network, revealed that upcoming episodes of the series will feature longer segments and tie in to the upcoming theatrical feature Star Wars: Episode III—Revenge of the Sith, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. "We're doing 12-minute episodes this time, as opposed to the three-minute episodes last time," Tartakovsky said. "It really allows us to open up both character development and action."
Tartakovsky added that the five new chapters will relate to information that appears in the traditional opening scroll crawl in Episode III. The shorts will also feature a new character, General Grievous, who will "be the new villain in Episode III." Cartoon Network begins airing the new episodes on March 21, 2005. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-m...09/29/09.00.tv Glad he finally convinced Lucas to allow him to lengthen the episodes. Originally Lucas only wanted 1 minute episodes -screwy- . Until Genndy explained to him he couldn't tell a coherent story in one minute. |
nice. looking forward to all that. Glad they expanded the episodes. 1 minute was crazy talk.

The 1 minute idea reminds me of that Conan O'Brien spoof of 24. :D
|
Cool news! Thanks!

Clone Wars Cartoon Series: Where can I download it?
I tried to download it through WinMx over the past two days and when it was through, it was nothing but audio!!! :grrr:
Anyone know a site that has the complete season one available for download? Once I get the answer feel free to close this thread! Thanks! |
Since its coming to dvd on March 22nd, I don't think you'll get too much help on this board. I think its only going to retail for $15 anyway.
|
Yeah, I've waited this long, I can wait longer. When does season two start then? ;)
My gripe with this show is that it is impossible to actually set your VCR (don't have TiVo) for the right time to get most of them unless they do a marathon. I don't know why they do them in little three minute segments sporadically as opposed to making about four fifteen minute ones. |

At one point they finally did a marathon and my friend was finally able to TiVo them. |
Will they re-air Clone Wars (the second series)
Will they re-air the second series before Revenge of the Sith comes out.
Please No Spoilers or Refrences to any plot. Thanks. |

You can watch them on online at starwars.com in quicktime. http://www.starwars.com/clonewars/mi...hapter/21.html
I really enjoyed these. The characters have a sense of humor that was missing from the movies. |
So it's all chapters? Sweet. I've been holding off on these but after I watched the 1st series on DVD, I can't wait to see the next installment.
|
I caught all of Vol. 2 but missed a bunch of Vol. 1, so this is good news.
The review on dvdtalk says that there was supposed to be a third series that has yet to air. Is that still accurate? |

I really enjoyed these. The characters have a sense of humor that was missing from the movies. Here in Canada it aired in Teletoon (the Canadian equivalent of the Cartoon Network but not nearly as good) but I missed couple of episodes. |
