While the insert does say Winter 2003, on BuffyDVD.com, it mentions that season three will be released this winter, as opposed to next one. There is no doubt that they are going to do a release every six months, unless the show actually does go past another two seasons...

Ok, if there is another Slayer called when a Slayer dies, how come no one got called when Buffy died at the end of last season? Sorry if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find it

Hope you're catching up on Angel also...
Spoiler:
When Buffy died at the end of Season 5, she wasn't the official slayer anymore - Faith was. And since Faith is still very much alive (see Angel) no new slayer is called.

I think when they say 'Winter 2003' they mean Jan. or Feb.

I hope.

I meant to watch "Pangs" when it was just on because I downloaded several episodes of Angel and was up to episode 8. So I just watched "I Will Remember You" and I felt pretty conflicted about it. It had a great ending and was a pretty powerful episode, but the premise seemed so forced.
Spoiler:
Why would the stuff that healed him also remove the curse?

As much as I loved the ending, it felt forced too. Why would Angel immediately go to the oracles just because some demon said dark forces are coming? Dark forces are always coming and Buffy's always in danger of dying.
Spoiler:
It seemed like Angel was almost looking for an excuse to become a vampire again. That would be an interesting idea, but I don't know if they actually had that in mind. Why would the oracles give him the curse again? Wouldn't taking his soul be enough for them?

Oh well, I really want to like this episode, but it feels so futile knowing that everything would go back to normal at the end of the episode. I wish I had been watching BTVS and Angel back then and this episode would have been much better because I would have had no idea how it would end. Of course, considering that they both have their own TV series, I guess that ending would have been pretty obvious even back then.

I hope I used the spoiler tags appropiately. I don't know the etiquette for Angel episodes.

Dawn is introduced in the final scene of the first episode from season 5, the one with Dracula. The monks don't show up until several episodes later. Make sure to watch Restless, the season 4 finale. It's one of my favorite episodes and ties in nicely to season 5.

The newsgroup is alt.binaries.multimedia.buffy-v-slayer.repost
that is the usenet group that posts older episodes. The main newsgroup is alt.binaries.mulitmedia.buffy-v-slayer, they only post new encodes there. Which if they follow like they did last year they post the new Buffy episodes Tuesday morning, because it's broadcast in Canada monday night. So if you have a fast connection you might be able to watch the premier of Buffy 8 hours or more before it's broadcast in the US

If you don't know how to use the usenet go here it has all the information you should need.

Was it me or did FX not run the episode where Giles turns into a demon? Friday's episode was the one where the gang goes back to there old high school to fight the three demons. Mondays was The I in Team. I've been trying to watch these in order (since I missed them all the first time around, and second and third...). Anyone know what gives?

I dont know what FX is trying to do, but if you check out the new updated schedule. FX is planning on ending season 4 on Sept 24 and skipping season 5 and starting all over with season 1!!!! Ahhh! I was really hoping they would start showing season 6 in order since the new season is starting on Sept 24.

Downloaded an episode. Unrared it. But when I play it my WMP plays the sound but the screen is green with streaks running around. The episode has an .mpg exentsion. Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding vampires and the "invite" rule:

Upon re-watching S2, I noticed a couple of instances.

In "Reptile Boy," Angel is able to freely enter the fraternity house. Seems sort of "iffy." One one hand, a frat house is a private dwelling, but on the other hand, it's also sort of a communal living center.
I don't remember the episode, but it was a frat party, so it's possible that there was an open invitation, which would allow him to enter freely.

On the other hand, since he was Angel at that point (as opposed to Angelus), were there still entry restrictions?

I just rewatched "Reptile Boy" myself. Before Angel goes in, Xander gets one of the frat boys to invite him in. Maybe the invite extended to Angel as well since he was standing next to him?

Most frat boys wouldn't be too picky about extending an invite to anyone that shows up for a party, so Angel was in the clear.

The episode where Giles turns into a monster who can't communicate with the scoobies was damn funny.

Angel has the same vamp-y restrictions as Angelus

The Season 4 finale has Tara warn Buffy to remember to return home "before dawn." Was this some sort of hint of what was to come, or was it just a coincidence?

It was definitely foreshadowing, but it wasn't the first time "dawn" was mentioned. If you rewatch the season 3 finale, Faith hints about the arrival of dawn to Buffy while she's in comma. She says something like "lil miss muffet counting down from 730" with basically 730 = two years times, 365 days in one year..... and guess what she was right!

Actually, the first episode is tomorrow night (9/25) to start the first season cycle. Tonight (9/24) it's back-to-back episodes of M*A*S*H.

Also, the episode "Earshot" from season 3 will be shown tomorrow morning 8am EST.

I watched like two episodes of this show months ago, but didn't interest me at all, probably since I didn't know any of the characters or story. So I waited until the first episode to rerun, to give it another chance. And admit the episode got me hooked. Only thing I found annoying was that popular girl. Does FX edit the show? Because they had abrupt transitions to commercials.
