I've heard of this. It's what is known as the "Survivor Effect". Can someone explain the physics behind it to me?

What's the "Survivor Effect"? At least Survivor is a good show.

I was trying to think of a show that most people think is awful, but I couldn't come up with one so I decided to piss some people off. That's known as the "Overlord Effect".

I dunno. I think you were right the first time. Survivor is suck. So is Fear Factor, When Animals Attack, Real World, or any other "reality" tv show out there.

But who am I to bitch about how vapid and stupid the opiate of the masses can be?

Crank Yankers 6/10/02

I thought the first episode was just OK, this episode was classic though, the stripper that needed they seeing eye dog had me in tears, the guy that was trying to order the penis pump was hilarious too, all of calls were pretty funny though, I hope people give this show a second chance

hmm.. I really want to like this show. The concept seems great to me. but the prank calls just suck. The first episode was better, imo, but not by a lot. The tech support call was only slightly funny because the tech guy's set was very well designed(linux posters, etc). other than that it was just dumb. I don't hate the show, it just doesn't make me laugh(or even smile really).

The prank calls are very lame. I saw the first episode and the phone sex lady screaming to create vibrations for the deaf guy was hilarious.

Also, the 6/10's "I've got mail!" for two minutes was humorous.

Hey guess what....I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail, I've got mail.

Yeah I think this is just best sticking to an audio cd like the Jerky Boys.

I thought the first episode stunk. This one was pretty funny though. As I said about the first episode, they've assembled a great cast. From this episode it appears that Tracy Morgan is on board in addition to Dave Chapelle, Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carrola, and Sarah Silverman. This episode was better but still needed something. I'll see how the third episode is.
I agree though the "I've got mail!" was really funny. The puppet was wearing a helmet. That one had me laughing pretty hard.

I liked both episodes (the second one a bit better).

Only thing I really didn't like so far was the WU-Tang clan at the end of the first episode.

Other than that I thought the call were pretty good, ofcourse some MUCH better than others.

And the concept of putting it to puppets I think is pretty funny.
Guess I'm easy to please.

That "I've Got Mail" sketch was so annoying. I still have no idea where my tv landed.

the funniest was definetly the stripper that needed the seeing eye dog,

"there can't be any strobe lights or loud music because it will scare the do"

the puppets were classic to, she kept bumping into stiff during the call, the dogs actions were funny too

This was better than the first episode by a long shot, although still not that great. The best was when they got the guy at the adult bookstore to pretend he was a pasta place.

The "I've got mail" segment seemed very Tom Greenish to me, and that's a good thing. Sometimes it's funny to see how much people will take. It seems like they got to the point where they just said "F#@k it, let's see how quick we can get this guy to just hang up!" But the comedy lies in the fact that he doesn't. Not to mention the very witty "I have higher standards" and "and then..." lines. They guy was a comic genius. I thought maybe it was Nick Burns.

And how about that puppet of the woman at 7-11. Holy crap was that perfect or what?! With the bags under the eyes, the whole thing. It was just dead on.

All the production put into the puppets might as well just make it a series with a narrative. The crank call are only so funny and even when they are somewhat inspired, it gets old and will only get older. Give these puppets and actors a comedy storyline to work within and make it a real show!
Of course I am still psyched for Tenacious D to appear on CY.
