The Baseball One (Where Burns hires ringers for the company softball team...in fact I love all the old-timey Burns jokes.)
22 Films about Springfield ("For the next 5 minutes, I'm going to party like it's on sale for $19.99!")
The One where the teachers go on strike and the town's people have to teach (Just for the Jasper line, something like: "Talkin' out of line, that's a paddlin'. Pullin on the teachers beard, that's a paddlin'. Paddlin' the school canoe, oh that's a paddlin'.)
Grampa vs. Sexual Inadaquacy ("SHHEEEEEX! I had SEEEEEEEEEEX!")

The Sprinfield Files - I just love the Simpsons/X-Files crossover and that Nimoy is in it too. I love Mulder's ID!
The Insane Chili Pepper one - I can never remember the name of it, but Homer eats the Chili Pepper Wiggum put in his chili - Grown by the inmates in a Guatamalan insane asylum. The whole drug trip scene is hysterical.
This one may have been mentioned. It's when Homer gets hired by Scorpio and they move to the perfect little town and have everything they ever wanted. When Lisa is talking to the cute chipmunk and then the Owl swoops down and grabs it as she's walking away. I crack up at that every time.
The one where Bart goes to work in the Burlesque (sp?) house. That's pretty funny.
When homer gets the gun and Marge takes the kids and leaves. That one is killer too. "Vote Quimby!"
Also like the Pinchy episode.

The Insane Chili Pepper ep is probably my second favorite.
Favorite is the episode where they all go skiing, and homer says 'stupid sexy Flanders'.
That's gold.
THen he's going doing the hill full speed and doing the splits. "This is the worst pain ever!"...and then all of a sudden a dozen or so rocks hit him in the groin.
Doesn't get much better than that.
Favorite Simpsons quote?
"Facts? You can explain anything with facts. Facts-smacks"

The scene your describing though, was edited out of the episode in it's syndication run to make room for more ads.
About 1 - 2 minutes are edited out of each episode in syndication.
It's kind of random what they edit out. Its usually a scene that doesn't apply to the story, but since Simpsons is filled with so many non-sequiters, there's a lot of funny stuff that gets cut.
My favorite cut scene:
Outside of Burns' birthday party; a line of people are going in:
Ronald Reagan goes in, Richard Nixon goes in, Bill Clinton goes in
As George Bush is about to enter, security guards grab him and throw him aside:
"Hey! No single-termers!"
standing to the side is Jimmy Carter:
"They wouldn't let you in either, huh?"
Bush:
"Get away from me, loser."

I think its called --Selma's Choice
its the one where Homer has the old hoagie that he is eating on for days.
And Lisa "drinks the water" at Duff World
I just love the subversiveness of the humour in this episode and the sandwich gag is Homer at his funniest.

Runner Up: "You Only Move Twice" - the one w/ Hank Scorpio.
"And Homer, if you could kill some people on the way out, that would be great"
"Ohhhh, the Denver Broncos!"
Favorite: "Homer Phobia" - the one w/ John Waters where Homer fears Bart is gay
"We work hard, we play hard"
FYI, any and all Simpsons questions regarding episode names etc. can be answered at http://www.snpp.com

Reading this thread makes me realize that it's impossible to have a favorite episode. I think I listed 9 originally, but almost all of the other listed could have made my list as well.

There are too many for me to choose one.
But one of my favorites is the one where Homer offers to give PBS all the money it needs to go back to playing a show, then they chase him down ("elmo knows where you live"). Then Homer runs into the church for help yelling "sanctuary" and gets sent to be a missionary ("but I don't even believe in jebus") and gets the natives to build a casino.

The "Rear Window" episode is my favorite.
The Simpsons get a pool and Bart breaks his leg. He hears a "woman" screaming and it all turns out to be Flanders who killed his wife's plant...
Hilarious episode.
------------------------
My favorite Simpsons line (not from the same episode) comes from Flanders:
"What the flood?"
Does anyone know what episode this line comes from, I can't remember the premise.

My favorite cut scene is from the Secrets of A Successful Marriage episode, where Moe is teaching the class "Funk Dancing For Self Defense." He starts dancing, then pulls out a shotgun and shoots into the air. Can't wait for that one to hit DVD.

The one where Homer has a Time Travelling Toaster (from one of Halloween specials, i think) really rocks!
Homer keeps going back in time and screwing up the future! A classic!
[homer] oooo, I'm gonna pay for this one! [/homer] , after killing off all of the dinosaurs..

Oh man, how could I forget the sideshow bob episodes...those are some of my favorite...
One gag I loved:
Bob's brother, Cecil voiced by David Hyde Pierce, has framed Bob, voiced by Kelsey Grammar, and is going to blow up a dam. Bart sneaks up behind him and covers Cecil's eyes.
BART
Guess who?
CECIL
Wha? Maris?
It's subtle, but I watch both shows, so I was laughing.

the sideshow bob episodes are great.
all the scenes with Hans moleman
The critic "A star is Burns" crossover where he is in town to judge the springfield film festival. Burns makes a documentary directed by Steven Speilburgo. Barney still wins. Funny and not often seen on syndication.

Homer Loves Flanders- The one where Homer and Flander become best friends.
Homer (looking up)- Why do you mock me, O Lord?
Marge- "Homer thats not God, its just a waffle bart stuck to the ceiling." (Marge knocks waffle down, Homer catches it and begins to take a bite)
Homer- "I know I shouldn't eat thee..."(takes a bite) Mmm, sacrilicious.
Brother from the Same Planet- The one where Bert gets a Big Brother, so Homer gets a little Brother, Pepe.
BB Administrator "And what are your reasons for wanting a Little Brother?"
Homer (brain thinking)- "Don't say revenge. Don't say revenge."
Homer (speaking)- "...Uh, revenge? D'oh!"
Homer (brain)- Okay, thats it, I'm gettin' outta here." (sound of footsteps)
Homers Enemy. Frank "Grimey" Grimes
Grimes- "God, he eats like a pig."
Lenny- "I dunno'. Pigs tend to chew. I'd say he eats more like a duck."
Grimes- "Some kind of farm animal anyway. Earlier today, I saw him asleep inside a radiation suit. Can you imagine that?"
Lenny- "Well, he had three beers at lunch, that would make anybody sleepy."
Grimes- "I've never seen him do any work around here ... what, what is his job, anyway?"
Lenny- "Safety inspector."
Grimes- "That irresponsible oaf? That's the man who's in charge of our safety? It, it boggles the mind."
Carl- "It's really best not to think about it."
and so many more...
When Mr Burns gets Santas Little Helpers Puppies
The Cape Fear episode with Sideshow Bob
Homers Triple Bypass
Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy
Radioactive Man
Homer the Smithers
and Time Travel Toaster is the best Halloween segment.

I can't choose just one episode, but rather a montage of scenes. I love the fact that everything that crashes explodes in a firey ball of flame. And I love the traffic lights firing laser beams during the rollover to the year 2000.

The one where Homer finds the box with his likeness on it. Turns out to be a Japanese cleaning product, and he finally sees the commercial...

Trilogy of Error is my favorite that I've seen. Also known informally as "the one where Homer gets his thumb cut off" it's a masterpiece of storytelling in the Pulp Fiction/Go/Run Lola Run fashion.
