Eddie Murphy on 'Inside The Actor's Studio'.
Found this really fascinating because Murphy hasnt done talk shows in many years.
Only watched the first 45 minutes so far and was pleasantly surprised and entertained.
Obviously, Murphy isnt what he was 20 years ago comedically speaking (movie wise), but he's still very funny in person.
Good watch.

He was very entertaining. I was surprised when he talked about Delirious that he said the movie holds up well. All the speculation that he didn't want it released because the stuff on AIDS and homosexuality are offensive seemed faulty. The admission that Beverly Hills Cop 3 sucked was honest of him.

'Inside the Actor's Studio' question
does anyone know how long the student question part of the show goes on for, it's obviousily edited down for the tv broadcast - I just watched the Jason Bateman episode the other night and only two student questions were asked/answered.

Re: 'Inside the Actor's Studio' question
I read an interview in EW that mentioned they often go for as long as 5 hours for an entire taping.

I think they had to edit that down because honestly, how much do people really need to know about Teen Wolf, Too!.

I bet those students have no interest in asking questions to a man who has over 25 years experience in the industry, most of it doing bit work on television (which most of them will end up doing).

Re: 'Inside the Actor's Studio' question
The taping goes from 4-6 hours. They have breaks and the Q&A usually could take from 30 minutes to 1 hour. For most of the people attending, is taking a class lecture.

Re: Inside the Actor's Studio remembers Robin Williams --> 8/21/14
Thanks. I missed it, but it airs again Saturday morning at 10a ET, so I programmed the DVR for that.
Somehow I think it'll be a celebration, not a mourning.

Nope, just a repeat of his show from 2001. The only acknowledgement of his death is a in memoriam bumper at the front of the episode.

That's a great episode though. Williams' improv is hilarious, and his intellectual insights into acting and his more serious roles are are very interesting, IMO. I still can't believe he's gone, he will be missed . Damn.

Bravo Media's Emmy Award-winning "Inside the Actors Studio," hosted by James Lipton welcomes award-winning actress and producer Jessica Chastain to the stage on Wednesday, December 21 at 8pm ET/PT. In light of her titular role in the new film Miss Sloane, currently in theaters, the talented performer discusses her rise to Hollywood stardom from humble beginnings as a shy and anxious adolescent in northern California. The ever endearing Chastain reflects on theater training at Julliard and her career-changing films, such as Salomé, where she starred opposite Al Pacino, who she counts among her biggest influences. Viewers will also learn about Chastain's personal experiences in iconic movies such as A Most Violent Year, which she describes as one of her greatest filmmaking achievements, and Zero Dark Thirty, explaining why it was the worst experience of her life.

Re: Inside the Actors Studio -- Series Discussion Thread
I havnt watched this show in years. As much as i loved hearing from some of the actors, i just HATE James Lipton. Such a sycophant. And that bullshit questionnaire by Bernard Pivot is ridiculous. Yesterday i found a series of interviews by SAG and was watching one with Gary Oldman. The female presenter did a really good job. Interesting questions and it felt a lot warmer and more friendly and you could see he was enjoying the interview.

I wonder how many episodes they do ever year?
Obviously it is a lot fewer now since Bravo is the Real Housewives and other crappy reality show destination.

I haven't watched this show in about 10-15 years, but James Lipton looked really old and feeble when he was interviewing Scarlett. I know he said he just got out of surgery that week for his arm, but he didn't have that typical 'pretentious' attitude he is so well known for.
