Again, from my sievelike memory:

Phil saves the day when the health inspector shows up and wants $20,000 of new kitchen gear installed to pass inspection, and Phil schmozes the inspector and gives him the pony as the pay-off. Phil tell Shirley and Kenny that he's back from his fling with that Outragiacs?show because it's a mean version of Candid Camera.

Bonnie admited to Ed that she had gotten back with her ex-boyfriend who then re-proposed to her, and she had to come back and find out if she and Ed still had a relationship worth going for in lieu of the re-proposal. Bonnie decides that Ed and her will just be friends because Ed only has eyes for Carol, and they hug as Bonnie leaves Stuckeyville via a cab to the airport.

Ed gets Warren off the hook on the court case (Warren wasn't found guilty of causing that kid to drink and then hurt himself later - personal responsibility wins out), but he does get punished for buying the keg as an underaged person. His dad tells him that he's grounded for 30 years. Ed's closing argument was also meant for Carol, who was in the courtroom, and Ed was trying to make his case to her (in pursuing a relationship with her).

Ed decides to take Carol up on "aligning the stars" by wiring up a bunch of "star" lights on the front of his house, drags Carol to his house to see the stars. Carol's touched by Ed's generous gesture, but she goes on to tell him that she was just making that stuff up, and now she's all messed up by what the new principal said to her (by summing up her "pathetic" life in 30 seconds without breaking much of a sweat.) Carol tells Ed that she's not afraid of Ed being her boyfriend, but rather Ed being her Ex-boyfriend. This leaves Ed with a lump in his throat and basically speechless until he tells her that the star lights cost him $3.99 each, and that breaks the tension, they laugh, the camera backs out cranes upward, fade the credits.

THANK YOU Patman! I really appreciate it. This is just a great show, isn't it? And boy am I glad Phil didn't leave for real.
