Isn't that a rule of current TV, that main characters can't get together with the "audience favorite" until after the third or fourth season?

well, I'm more partial to Bonnie so I'll happily go along with that rule

Bonnie's got another acting gig on a sci-fi show with Booger (Revenge of the Nerds).

Scha-wing. And 'The Chronicle' was renewed by Sci-Fi (God nows why), so I can't imagine she'll be leaving the show.

No kidding, good God, did that show look awful or what? Even the previews were so bad I never watched it (then again, I never watched Farscape based on it's previews until you all convinced me otherwise, and look what happened).

I'm gonna vote for Carol on this one. She's a bit neurotic, but she's damn cute and has that nice "girl-next-door" thing going, whereas Bonnie is good looking and knows it and comes across with this "I wanna rule you in the sack" kinda thing, which while it has it's moments...isn't what you want in a long-term relationship.

i am sooooooo ready for this episode. even though i know that ed will go with bonnie (for how long???), i don't care. it is a new ed!!! besides, everyone knows that eventually ed and carol will end up together.

man, that new theme song reeks. bring back the foo fighters!!!

This is my favorite show and I only came in to post about the song change. That was god awful.

I agree, please bring back the Foo Fighters. It's only the theme song, but still...

I wouldn't mind if Bonnie (Rena Sofer) stayed around. I'd pick Carol but if it were my choice for Ed I'd try and find a way to get Michael to bet me $10 to try and get them both at once.

The show kind of got off to a slow start. But it was really feeling like the Ed of last year by mid-show and that ending was terrific. I think we all knew they would be keeping Ed and Carol apart and I was really prepared to be disappointed with the reason. But I think they really did a great job making us believe there was any reason these 2 wouldn't get together now.

Julie Bowen has managed, somehow, to get even hotter during the summer. Wow!

What are you talking about? That show looked awesome. The preview line was the best:

"She was probed by an alien. Now she works with one......"

plus they had a picture of her in fishnet stockings and a tight dress........... damn!

The song was a poor choice. Overall, the show last night was OK. The fat kid looked like he gain another 50 pounds. I thought the guy who played Phil Stubbs actually may have left the show because of the explanation for his absence. Nice how they brought him back. It was ironic when his character was talking about reality shows since the actor actually hosted one, the awful Spy TV.

OMG, that new "theme" song as rancid, putrid, just plain missed the mark. WTH happened to the old song? Did the rights to the song not get renewed?

Ed and his nervousness around Bonnie was funny, while in bed, it appeared that he was on his way to sporting wood so he had to get the hell out of the bed.

And the writers figured out yet another way to keep Ed and Carol apart by having Carole get loaded up with self-doubt (delivered by the new principal by the 30 second truckful).

You could see the dagger in Ed's heart get twisted hard when Carol said she was afraid of Ed becoming her ex-boyfriend. So, I guess we'll get treated to Ed on the prowl for the next 5-10 shows.

UGH! Whoever changed the opening song needs to get their head straight! I liked the show, but man, the opening song almost ruined the whole thing for me.

I know it's just a show and it would probably be bad news for Ed and Carole to get together now, but DAMN, that Carole is beginning to piss me off with her mindgames. If that situation were happening to me IRL, I would've gotten far away from that neurotic chick many moons ago. You can only bang your head against the wall for so long.

BTW, I agree, the new theme song stinks.

Maybe the producers didn't think the song was "fitting" anymore, since Ed isn't "coming home", he's now there.

Carol is worth it (the trouble). We're getting to see another side of her...the one where she is less than perfect.

Would someone mind posting a spoiler on the last 20 minutes of this episode? We had a storm in TX and the satellite went out. I didn't get to see 1) the trial end 2) what happened after Ed left Bonnie in his bed 3) anything with Phil.
