yeah but, we're talking about the *original* series, possibly before food replicators were created. The technology of TNG is much better documented and much more consistent in presentation (you dont get a food replicator in the transporter room in one ep, a view screen in another, a blank wall in most others, etc). But they do have the comm badge inconsistencies

In the first place, I was joking. I'm well aware that you've been around, but didn't know to what extent until now.

The very fact that there have been inconsistencies has been the fodder for many a debate. Hence my joking remark. I, too, have been to at least a couple of conventions, although I’m still working on my first “million” . Granted, it’s been a while, and I don’t know what YATI stands for, but I can’t see a consensus to “agree to disagree” to have happened in my absence. If there were no inconsistencies, you would have an excellent point.

BTW, Charlie X was released on the 4th or 5th DVD. I’ll take a peek at it tonight.

Sorry, without hearing the inflection and delivery of your statement, it was impossible to tell if you were joking. And Das already beat me to defining YATI...

Let me know what you find about Charlie, I couldn't find any definitive quotes or answers but did find one that said they usually had synthetic meatloaf that was made to look like turkeys on thanksgiving, but then they discovered real turkeys in the oven. Oven? I dont recall that term being used in the ep so I am looking for confirmation..

Man, you really need to cut back on the caffeine!

And I believe that registering under an almost new name while suspended will get you into a bit of a problem…

Yeah, careful, buddy. I don't know you well yet, but since you're friends with elektra, it wouldn't be cool to lose you

Thanks Das, but I think it's too late for that. I love some of the folks here like yourself, you seem to share almost all the same interests (except Buffy of course ) and I was enjoying debating various topics. But it's obvious that the mods and most of the people just don't get it, they are unprofessional at the least, and anti-American at the most, and I do not wish to participate in such an environment. I will still debate Star Trek with you and others under a different name because I can't stop myself, but I thought this forum was a place to express opinions of all sorts and I guess I was sadly mistaken. I'll see you around, in a little bit....

Actually I need much MORE caffeine at the moment

And since they didn't bother to let me know I was 'suspended' I had no way to know that. They obviously haven't learned how to operate a board in a professional manner, whereby they warn you when you stray from the rules, fess up to any actions they undertake, and give you a fair shake. They just cut me off with no warning or explanation. I believed I was already banned so the only option was another account. I am waiting for an official position from the owners before I take any action because it's possible they don't support that sort of censorship. Life goes on but it's been a nice diversion from the falling bombs and spreading anthrax...

Can you read? Go to your first post in this thread, and look for the word SUSPENDED under your user name.

I can see that now, but I tried to log in to GET to the forums and couldn't so assumed I was banned. It's like if your email account is closed, and they say "oh, didn't you get the email?"

Wait, wait, wait...Filmmaker hasn't had enough caffeine this morning to make sense of all this.

Are Riker and RikersRevenge one and the same?

If so, why was Riker suspended?

If so, why does it look like elektra (who is allegedly tight with Riker) is calling RikersRevenge a troll?

Do I need more sleep?

Film - Riker doesn't know why he's been suspended. He wasn't told yet. Riker'sRevenge is him. dek was trolling.

Weird, weird, weird...and unfortunate--in his short time here, he seemed like good people (it's a Southern phrase, for those who might have thought I'd lost all understanding of proper grammar )...

dek was trolling.

Ah, I see...reading your post directly after RikersRevenge gave the wrong impression...thanks for setting me straight. Do you, or anyone else, have any theories on Riker's suspension...?

Right, it was your friend who was trolling the boards. He attacked mods, got suspended, came back and started slamming the boards.

I believe this may be a clue, as well as some inappropriate anti-mod remarks in this thread.

It seems that some folks are confused on the "censorship" issue. The fact is this is Geoff’s board, not ours.

I, too, was confused about the trolling thing, probably due to the abrupt change of page.

Maybe someone should consider closing this thread before it gets uglier than it already is.

IMHO, of course.

A note to the moderators--Riker is an Aries...he can't help being aggressive, blunt and straightforward--it's in the stars!

In any case, I still maintain after heated private discussion with Geoff, that a board such as this may be hosted by him, but life is breathed into it by users such as ourselves. If we are not allowed to give feedback and constructive criticism, even if it takes the negative form, then the validity and effectiveness of this forum stands to be compromised. Currently, this isn't my battle, and I don't wish it to be (still licking my wounds over the aforementioned disagreement with Geoff), but I do hope that those who run this forum and Riker can open an honest give-and-take dialogue, and come to a beneficial-for-all conclusion...

When I saw the first RikersRevenge, I too was clueless, so I went searching and found that thread too.

I won't comment on what was said in that thread, but it does suck to get the boot without notice. Oh well. If you're still reading, we'll miss you, Riker. At least, now you'll have more time to attend to the ailing elektra. Take care of yourself.

As for this thread, I think it's run its course, and we certainly don't want anything else bad to happen. I'm in favor of it getting closed as well.

dek - I never said he didn't do anything wrong. However, your post in question contributes to this thread how? It may not be considered a troll, but definitely a thread crap. Do your third grade friends find this behaviour equally impressive?

I'm very much in agreement. Without the board, we have no place to post. Without the posters, there is no board. Which came first...?

But without order...
If we are not allowed to give feedback and constructive criticism, even if it takes the negative form, then the validity and effectiveness of this forum stands to be compromised.
With respect, the key word here is "constructive." And also remember, the right place, the right time. I note the words "private discussion."
