So, you come into a thread bashing people that watched the show, were disappointed and want to vent?

Geez ...

Overall, the show sucked the big one...but Triumph and Ben Stiller were funny as hell.

Also, I was when Jamie Foxx did that little thing about being a former member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Hahah to hell with you guys -- I'll admit it -- I watched it for Britney. I though this could be the year where she stops in the middle of a song and finally admits "Jason, I want to be with you!" and goes running off stage.

Another year I'm wrong it seems

Can't wait. The ones DayTripper provided so far are damn good, I love reading the bashing of MTV. But more would be just as great.

The funny thing is does MTV realize what a joke they are now? The articles summed it up the best when they noted that the VMAs used to stand for something but are now just a plethora of marketing and promotional garbage.

So you didn't watch the show. Why exactly then are you here? This discussion is for people who did. At least we have something to add to this thread. You on the otherhand......

Telling us to stop bitching indeed.

I loved what my friend had to say about Britney on last night's show, and I quote her: I was hoping to catch it just to see if one of the big cats would suddenly go burserk onstage and maul the fugly bitch to death before her adoring pre-teen audience, but alas, the Lord works in mysterious ways.

The funniest people of the night:

1. Ben Stiller ()

2. Jamie Foxx (the whole "cocky" skit was funny, and also the Suge Knight comment)

3. The Dog (He said to Carson..."you must be hung like a great dane" )

There were other funny spots in the show

Oh and nice makeup...uhh, I mean bullet wounds, yeah bullet wounds.
That's Mudvayne, and they've got a few more than 100 fans. I feel the MTV2 award was supposed to be for a video shown only on a real video channel that probably wouldn't be up for any other awards, not overplayed videos like the ones you've mentioned. Seeing Mudvayne on stage was refreshing after the NStink overload. I wouldn't pay a quarter to see Alicia Keys eat a bale of hay. I can't understand what people see in her, maybe I'm just getting old. And that H to the izzo, V to the izza sheeeit, it seems to me that most rappers nowadays are talentless thugs. Again, maybe I'm getting old, or maybe rap is just getting tiring. I only tuned in to see Dave Matthews Band get screwed again, and see Britney, but I missed seeing Britney. At least that Fatboy Slim video did well. And I did see Staind.

I 100% agree with you. The MTV2 award was about bands that MTV2 really helped get popular 'cause MTV would never play them.
MuDvAyNe winning a award was the only thing I found entertaining about the show

I think Moby was the only sane person there. And Triumph was the only funny gag.

I read somewhere that Triumph ripped on J-Lo so hard that she got up and left and never came back. What did the little mutt say?

I totally think that the awards sucked this year. Except for the Alica Keys performance. If only popstars like Britney, Christina, and N-stink could be as talented as she is.

"Ohhh, oh JLo.. JLo... please please.. Let me sniff your butt."

Then she pushed him away in diva fashion... Triumph goes back to carson daly and says

"Carson, Carson, she doesn't understand man.. For a dog, that would be like climbing Mt everest"

Carson daly is crying laughing at this point, cause he realizes a dog puppet has more talent than him.

oh and i know you love this for a transistion

Announcer: "tracy chapman called, she wants her fast car back. And now, dale earnhardt Jr."

A tracy chapman joke.. good job, send it back to 1992, although its not a funny joke, so it's probably not wanted back then either.

Yeah, what the hell is up with all those tired jokes? Michael Jackson and kids. Bill Clinton. Tracy Chapman (!?) THIS is the best they could come up with?? Stunned they didn't do a Ted Kennedy joke or goof on Alice Cooper.

Oh, I don't know ClarkKent. I still think there's a little more mileage left ragging on Dub'ya (or should that be duh-b'ya?). I mean, he hasn't been in office a year yet But I forgot about the G dummy "joke". Oh the pain. Did *anyone* in the audience laugh at that one!?

This discussion is for whoever the hell wants to say something. And the reason I initially checked this thread out is to see if anything cool or unexpected happened, like the Ramones being introduced or D. Lee Roth taking the stage with Van Halen, both of which were kept secret. All I'm saying is this channel has for the most part been a showcase for mediocrity for the past ten years. We all know this and yet some people continue to watch, maybe they're masochists or something. The whole "MTV Sucks!" thing is so tired it's comatose. CHANGE THE CHANNEL.

And you had absolutely nothing to say. You didn't even watch the show at all. You just came in on a discussion and told everyone to stop bitching. You don't like what's being said? Why don't YOU change the channel? Now get lost.

Wow. I didn't think people would still be posting here, but then again MTV is playing this show over and over to the point that it's annoying. MTV has no orginality anymore.
