Just had a chance to watch this and I agrree it was excellent.

The pile of leaves was well placed and I loved the Jamie parts.

The kid with the mits kills me "What if Don Argento solves his romance problems with a machete, in a tragic yet comedic big bloody mess"

Then the sign he had on at the play in the end: "Spooked By Applause"

Malcolm in the Middle 3/20 "Ida Loses a Leg"

They really need to move this show out of the designated Fox Death Row timeslot. That may have been the craziest and most twisted episode they've ever done!

My favorite line, as Francis is redressing his grandmother's wound from her amputated leg she says, "Keep your eyes on the stump, Romeo."

What's the deal with Fox sitcoms and severed limbs lately?

Severed limbs, much like monkeys, is funny.

Still one of the most underrated comedy shows on TV. Malcom and Reese's super glue war was awesome.

I am probably one of the biggest fans of MITM on the forum (since my threads on the show don't seem to generate much action), but this episode was lacking IMO. I am not a fan of Leachman, so that definitely took away from it. Nice to see Francis again though.

I agree with you on Leachman. I really like this show, and it is too bad it is getting the Futurama treatment.

Malcolm in the Middle 04/24/05

I thought that is was another fantastic episode. The three storylines were above average, with two of them (Dewey and the new mother & Reese and the dogs) amongst my favorites of all of Malcolm's storylines in the past couple of seasons.

Hal acting like the second coming of Tony Robbins was pretty funny too.

Absolutely. Apparently TV Guide doesn't agree. They gave the show and Fox "Jeers" for renewing the show for another year. Up yours TV Guide!

I thought the Dewey seeing another mother, and Hal as a motivational speaker was hilarious! Great Episode.

If that's the quality of their writing, it looks like I'll need to go another 30 years without reading TV Guide.

This is one show that has not gotten old or worn out. Reese has become one of my favorite TV characters in that he can pull off some of the silliest shit without it seeming too "sit-com"ish. The kid's a great little actor.

Dewey and Lois having a conversation like a cheating husband with his wife was great

"Malcolm in the Middle" - 5-2-05

Was it just me, or did they promote the hell out of this as being an animated episode?

There wasn't any animation to be found.

It's funny, everyone on the net assumed that because Malcolm was animated in the promos, that the show would be animated. Not once did I see fox say "a special animated Malcolm". It didn't suprise me when it wasn't animated.

This ep just reaffirmed to me that it's a crime that Bryan Cranston doesn't have an emmy.

His reaction on the phone when he started crying and then rolled up in the fetal position when they told him how much those shoes cost had me

His reaction to when Dewey said "stash" was great too

I thought that this was a subpar episode, aside from Hal's storyline (loved the fetal position scene).

The funniest part of the whole episode was the pre-credits scenes with Lois.

You are not alone. I was waiting to see an animated Malcom... when it didn't come on I thought oh well..

Then when there was 2 new Simpsons on - I said maybe the animated malcom will be on later- I checked the channel listings but just the 10'clock news was on after FG and AD. Then I thought that I missed the animated one. but looks like it was Fox being Fox.

They were animated in the between show promos, if that counts.

Until last night it had been months since I've last seen Malcolm in the Middle.

Very funny episode. Loved the stilts fight. Man, those things look scary to use. Wish they'd start putting out the other seasons on DVD so I can catch up on the show.
