Hmmm... I'm surprised no one's mentioned Get Real. I know it went for a full season, so maybe that's too long for some to feel that it qualifies, but I was as hooked as I've ever been with a drama / comedy show ('cept for Sopranos).
Also, of course, the Ben Stiller Show has got to win this prize... and man, I was Action had moved to HBO!

I know you guys are talking about one season shows in general, but as this thread is just "short-lived" shows, I have to throw out my personal favorite. THE TICK! A true masterpiece in comedic television and writing at its finest. SPOON!!!
