The theaters in my area all suck anyways. I’d rather watch VHS at home than go to them.

DJairya speaks the truth, at least in my case. Haven't owned a Blu-Ray for over 8 years and just was gifted a tiny Sony one. This will be interesting.
Not many gripes other than the sheer volume of choice. If you cordcut smart and plan ahead, the savings are real.

All the big shows go to streaming which in the past would have aired on HBO, AMC, FX, or some cable outlet.

That’s a GOOD thing, especially for “basic” channels that clutter the screen and have tons of commercials.

Rando Gripes:
-Not having Trailers posted with the films. They help me decide if I'll watch.
-Auto play as default.
-Auto play with SOUND.
Netflix!! Yes, I know I can turn it off.
-Pricing
-Not having all the films in a Franchise on the service. 1 and 3 are there but part 2 isn't? WTF?
-Title screens with Intro sound when I log in. Guilty = Hulu and Netflix,
-Wonky apps on Roku
-End Credits that are minimized so they can promote another show or film or force you to watch something else next in queue
-Poor Film and TV show organization.
-Streamers that make getting to Extras a pain.

Yes I give some here shit for being "cranky old men"
But, I understand this forum is made up of mostly older men from various walks of life and professions with different levels of responsibilities.
Not everyone here can go out to the movies multiple times per month. Not everyone here has the time and money to do that. And same goes that not everyone here can afford more than a few streaming services.
I'm not being malicious or intending to insult anyone. You all have your lives and other things that are more important than consuming entertainment.

Re: List all your gripes with streaming
I still buy a ton of movies and still go to the theater, but streaming has saved me some cash. That being said I have more than a few issues with it.
As others have mentioned, shit in your watchlist leaving is a pain in the ass. Mostly with prime because you can still see it in your list taunting you.
Why the fuck do the networks have shows on their own streaming services?! I mean I know the answer, but sorry Picard and Twilight Zone you’ll never be seen by me. Put that shit on your regular broadcast.
Shit is too spread out. I’m sick of going across my apps to find the thing I’m looking for. Google can be handy for this though with their watch opinions feature.

It's a "premium" content shows like that, Star Trek Discovery and the R rated Taylor Sheridan shows that are suppose to get guaranteed subscription revenue every month than relying on ad money. And ad money is unstable because when shows don't get ratings, the money dries up.

Re: List all your gripes with streaming
One gripe I have which is a big reason why I still prefer discs, even CAV laserdiscs, is that it's very hard or impossible to slow down and study frames. When pausing you can't frame-advance like on discs, and you can't do perfect forward or backwards scanning either. When I watched the Star Is Born remake there was about a second I wanted to freeze-frame on, and if you've seen it you know what part I'm talking about, but I had to go back several times before I could land the pause button on just the spot I wanted.

Re: List all your gripes with streaming
One of my primary complaints is the terrible UI of many service's apps. They don't obey Apple's UI guidelines, for example, and don't use Apple's (very good) built-in player. Many don't integrate with Apple's search, preview, and "play next" functionality.
They have dumbass misfeatures, like Netflix not having a global subtitles setting, and it forgets the setting after every episode of a series (at least it does for Hit & Run), so you have to reset it constantly.
Amazon's fast-forward now only works in 15-second increments rather than frame by frame, an improvement that's true genius.
Apps always ask you what user profile you want even if there's only one profile. No setting to say "don't go to select/create profile on startup when there is only one profile".

Re: List all your gripes with streaming
Someone mentioned a lack of chapters, at least some movies on iTunes have those. Would be nice if that were standardized as that would be less reason to have those stupid Skip buttons appear onscreen, most devices don’t have chapter skip forward or backward buttons though.

Lack of universal ( not the studio) support of Movies Anywhere so my MGM, Paramount, Lionsgate etc movies are all over the place
Some movies are available only in SD while others are MIA even though they aren’t really obscure titles.

No studio progress, but MA did add Microsoft and I think Fandango to the list of participating services. Both are probably pretty minor in the overall pie, but they’re something.

Not a fan that I can't look through my recorded shows while having live TV still play (Hulu). Going to My Stuff cuts off the live feed.

It's my understanding those studios have begged to join MA and have been blocked by Disney et al. I think MGM may join MA now that Amazon owns them - Hollywood doesn't want to piss off Amazon too badly.
