re: Apple TV -- streaming service

I tried watching the replays rather than the live broadcast and the video still froze up.

Update:The replays from last week finally played without any problem.

Tried watching another live game tonight(3-4-23) and still froze up on PC.

It has resume function. Not only on ATV+ shows but on everything else you decide to stream via its interface.

What device are using to watch? I've noticed I have problems with Apple TV+ saving playback position when I use my Fire TV stick to watch.

It’s ok. I mostly watch straight through, but still dumb app quirk.

I'll confess I never watched it - primarily because the trailer made it look pretty bad. You've got to really tank on Apple for them not to renew your show. One of the advantages of doing a series for them as opposed to, say, Netflix.

Yeah, High Desert has been in my queue for quite a while and I have yet to get to it.

Same. The trailers weren't good. Dear Edward, High Desert, and Shantaram were canned this year.

Mr. Corman is the only other "Comedy" that didn't get a 2nd season. I can't imagine High Desert was that boring.

re: Apple TV -- streaming service

Apple has blasted out a LOT of compelling content in a rather short amount of time, with little promotion. So, not surprised.

Hello Tomorrow!, Bad Sisters, The Crowded Room, Platonic, Last Thing He Told Me etc. all sitting unwatched in our queue.

Shantaram was a bit of a chore to get through but we're huge Charlie fans, no matter what he does.

Silo is one of the BEST series on ANY service we've watched in years....

Target has renewed their Circle partner deal trials with Apple, after the previous round of trials expired last month. This new set of trials expires Feb. 3, 2024.

https://www.target.com/circle/partners

You can get 3 months free for Apple TV+, Fitness+, Arcade, and iCloud+. 2 months free for Apple Music. Should work once (for each service) for both new and returning subscribers (basically, those without an active subscription), though I've noticed that returning subscribers sometimes get one month less of the trial than listed in the offer (e.g. 2 months instead of 3 months).

re: Apple TV -- streaming service

Apple is jacking up the prices of several of its subscription services. The price increases to Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and Apple News+ will take effect immediately for newcomers. It's not yet clear when existing subscribers will start paying the higher rates.

In the US, the price of Apple TV+ is going up by $3 per month to $10. The annual TV+ plan has risen from $69 to $99.

My Apple TV+ plan just renewed for $69 on the 1st. Only reason I have Arcade is it's free thru Verizon. Verizon has absorbed all the Apple and Disney price increases... sooner or later that will stop.

re: Apple TV -- streaming service

That seems crazy to jack up Apple TV+. Yes they have quality content, but they don't have much of it so it's easier than other services to subscribe for a month and drop.

Ridiculous price increase. Mine ends next month and I will easily cancel it because there isn't a thing on there that is must see anymore. Although..... Godzilla

That is a substantial, and probably unjustified, price increase.

Yeah that's nuts for what they offer. Double what it cost a year ago.

Sports (which I don’t care about) is probably the reason for the big increase, just like it was (I am certain) for Amazon Prime Video. I would rather sports was a separate subscription.

Yup Apple is paying millions for live sports. Baseball and MLS. But I understand compared to others like Max and Paramount plus or even Netflix it’s small and they don’t have much catalog content. They rely heavily on their Apple Originals.

Isn't MLS an extra sub though? Not sure about baseball.

Yes, it's one game a week. Not at all worth what they're asking.
