I'm not a Kodi person or use ad blockers and such. I'm fine with that.

How is the commercial load for that plan? Is it a couple of ad breaks for shows and how are the ad breaks for movies?
I paid $19.99 for my 1 year Ad subscription. Mine expires next month. I don't find the Ad breaks that bad. Usually say watching Blacklists you might see 4-5 As breaks. They will usually last between 4-5 minutes total. Watch it OAR and you get about 18 minutes of commercials.

The ads in shows that were originally commercial free can be annoying. They put them in odd places. I'm watching Jekyll & Hyde that was originally on BBC and they put them any old place.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Based on what I've watched, I wouldn't bother paying for the ad free experience. I watched Poker Face and Mrs. Davis recently. 5 commercial breaks with none of them more than a minute long and quite a few of them only 30 seconds long. Movie usually have a minute and a half at the beginning and usually it's promoting their content.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

My 1 year commercial free Peacock subscription expired today. I decided to let it lapse and use one of the many Fandango promo codes for 6 months/$12 premium plan, but with ads. And it worked. Plus, my browser is linked with Rakuten and I'm getting an additional $6 back. 6 months/$6, sure why not? Saves me a good chunk of money. Hopefully a new deal will come up in 6 months.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

The commercials aren’t bad at all. I’m catching up on Quantum Leap and there are 4 act breaks and 2 30 second spots at each break. Better than 15 to 18 minutes on live TV.

Peacock is raising prices

https://variety.com/2023/digital/new...73e828aa12daf1

For the first time since Peacock debuted in 2020, NBCUniversal is hiking the monthly prices on the streaming service.

Starting at midnight ET Monday evening, NBCU will notify existing Peacock customers that their rates will be increasing as of next month. Effective Aug. 17, for existing users on their next billing cycle and immediately for new customers, the price of Peacock Premium (with ads) will increase by $1, to $5.99 per month, and Peacock Premium Plus (which is mostly commercial-free) will rise $2, to $11.99 per month.

Fortunately I'm locked in to the 6 month/$12 promo that I mentioned.

I'm locked in also on some insanely low year rate with ads. Though I never watch it, save for a random WWE ppv.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

I am surprised Kevin Hart got 3 seasons of his talk show on Peacock.

I saw the episodes with Mike Tyson, Miley Cyrus, and Ice Cube from season 1 on E! and he is a terrible interviewer unless he got better in season 2?

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

You should know by now it's not the quality of the interview but the number of viewers. And it might be a cheap show to produce.

I just signed up for the Peacock to check out the Twisted Metal Series. I'll check out some of those horror movies too.

Breaking News - All Rise! "Pearson" Is Now Streaming on Peacock | TheFutonCritic.com

The Suits spinoff "Pearson" is now on Peacock. It only lasted 1 season. Gina Torres was the lead. I'm sure most of this forum never even heard of it.

Re: Peacock -- NBC Universal streaming service

Checked the app on my iPhone this morning and my subscription is expired but still get a handful of things for free as I’m a “legacy” member. Haven’t checked the Kodi add on yet to see if I can still watch them ad-free on that, or even with ads.

I wasn't paying attention and my ads plan auto renewed for a full year..... I really wish they would send you an email a week or even two days before it renews.

That's why they don't... so you let the subscription renew without realizing it.

Yeah, I've been entering an event into my calendar a year out to remind me about these renewal dates

Were you planning to cancel?

When my ad-free plan was about to renew, they also didn't send a reminder. I had to check the renewal date and I later canceled and re-signed up for a special discounted promo on the ads plan.

Yeah. I had the one year for $19.99 promotion last year. I thought it didn't end until October, but I was wrong. I logged in and cancelled so it won't auto-renew next year. Amazon usually send an email two days before my Prime subscription auto-renews, but most companies don't and that's how they get you.... It's my fault for not checking earlier.

I had like 7 or 8 codes for 6 months for $12 from Fandango and posted one in this forum. But, no one seemed that interested and they're all expired now. I did use one of them to renew my own account.

I know a lot of posts are easy to miss when you're busy with your day.
