Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

I did the same thing andicus and caught of Joan Blondell films before it left the channel. I watched all of them except Big City Blues, He Was Her Man and Working Girls. I have Three On A Match and Night Nurse on DVD so I'll watch it later. I grew quite fond of her movies. I loved Blondie Johnson, Footlight Parade and Blonde Crazy.

I'm also glad that I watched The Heiress and What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? before it expired too.

I'm going to tackle the Joan Crawford collection before it leaves at the end of the month.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

I did revisit Dress to Kill which I haven’t watched in years. The pop psychology hasn’t aged well but it’s still a good slasher film.

Same here. Watched it last week for the first time in years. I love the imagery and set pieces in that movie and yeah, the psychology narrative wouldn't fly anymore, that's for sure.

So what is the distinction that allows some Criterion films to go to HBOMax?

The Twentieth Century, Matthew Rankin, 2019

Fantastic and absurd movie. Y'all absolutely need to watch it for a taste of Canadian history.

Canadians... Since this is unfortunately US-only on CC, you can watch it on Crave.

Re: The Criterion Channel -- streaming service

So I decided to re-join for 1 month. I got a 1/2 off 1 month discount code, so I said why not?

Going to try to catch up on some Olympic films to try to get me in the mood for the Olympics. It's better than shelling out $200+ for that big box set.

and I noticed the Wong Kar Wai set is here to stream as well with some of the extras.

I know the CC doesn't carry everything that's on disc as some titles are spread out to other streaming services.
