What device are you using? It's the ATV4K users (me included) that are not getting the DV pop ups.

So I’m not very hopeful that they are going to resolve this.
If you have Atmos equipment and your receiver is set to Direct or Stream or Pure or whatever is the setting for untouched audio, you should see Atmos on the receiver.

If you do then you do have the highest tier plan upgrade. Those without it will get standard 5.1 audio for all title.

I was playing around with the updated app last night. The Roku version is a little sluggish, but the Apple TV 4K seems to navigate smoother.

Also still noticing the 4KUHD, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos disclaimers on many titles that are not themselves offered in 4K or Dolby.

Which will for sure play into the decision to keep the middle tier or upgrade to top tier once the "legacy" subscription expires.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

So they did remove some stuff from HBO Max to Max.

The animated series "The Batman" (note: not Batman the Animated Series) is gone. I saw that Netflix had picked it up but it was on HBO Max. I wonder what else got (quietly) removed.

Will consider that after the 6 month legacy subscription runs out. Didn't want to do it too early.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

I found this list of what's leaving:
https://screenrant.com/movies-tv-shows-leaving-hbo-max/

There's a ton of stuff leaving at month's end but that's the usual HBO churn I think. I don't see The Batman (animated) on there. Also people are saying they've been removing episodes of the Regular Show with season 1 being almost gone.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

Getting more accustomed to the new format. I think I would've preferred scripted, HBO and related content separated from the majority of D+'s reality based catalog instead of all genres/hubs mashed together into vague categories.

Nothing feels very organized. It's a bit jarring to see "My List" now with (as an example) "Doom Patrol" situated right next to "90 Day Fiancé" LOL

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

With the merger I do appreciate now having access to all seasons of Dr Pimple Popper and most seasons of Robot Wars( Missing seasons 1-3 for some reason).

As long as i still have access to DC and TCM on MAX I'm cool

I don't know if any of you are aware of this, but Max fucked up with listing the creatives on TV shows. Instead of listing who it's written by, directed by, produced by, created etc. It just lists everyone into "Creators"

It's a big fucking mess and the WGA and other creatives weren't happy about it. Now Max is trying to fix it and it could take weeks.

Execs throwing the tech team under the bus. Figures. Impossible to believe that not a single executive-level person didn't know about the change before launch. Don't blame your workers.

But yeah, this never should have happened.

I tested it again last night with both settings... and I had left it at 4K DV when I setup the TV. Even with it turned on, almost all my streaming apps still correctly pick up SDR/HDR/DV and display it properly. I think this is why I just left it on as I thought the Apple TV menu looked better. BUT this does explain why everything thru VLC looks a bit dark (as it pushes everything out as DV.) So thanks for the correction... I've left it at 4K SDR now.

Yep no DV thru the Max app. I tried the new Shazam and got Dolby Atmos but no DV. Wow did they really screw up the rollout.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

I just noticed that while watching something, bringing up the progress bar doesn't show the elapsed time, only the remaining time. I think that HBO Max used to show the elapsed time, but I can't really check now. Is there some way to get elapsed time to show up? Every other streaming service I've checked shows elapsed time.

I don't see a way to display it. As long as you can see how much time is left.

It did used to show it. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait till they correct that in an app update.

All these poor, yet clearly deliberate, design changes are weird.

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

I'll continue my complaint I've had for some time about HBOMax and it's randomness of including Trailers with the content and even taking Trailers away. I'm not sure what dictates whether or not they post a Trailer in the show or film's info page, but it's really nice to have. Sometimes I watch them to gauge whether or not I'll watch a film and other timse I'll watch them just because I love Trailers.

That said, I feel like MAX is also being random with the trailers and may even have removed some from films I could swear had them. I hope they change this.

No they just listed the single creator of the show. They didn't throw a bunch of names together like Max who were writers, producers, directors etc. and called it "Creators"

Re: Max — Warner Bros. Discovery streaming service

I have the Max app on Roku and I've seen some weird issues where I'm scrolling down to see the content and it's like it gets stuck. I can only see the tops of the lower row and can't go down further. Anyone see stuff like this?
