Seriously, HBO needs to get their shit together and finalize a deal with Roku and Amazon. It's bullshit that 2 months after it launched, the app is not on these devices while their HBO Now is.

Yeah they made 26 eps and split it into two 13ep seasons.

Does that mean they are done with this series or will it continue?

As far as I know it hasn't been officially renewed by DC Universe yet.

I'm sure the writers are prepping stories via Zoom, but who knows when they can go back to the studio lot and actually start production on another season.

The app works on Fire TV again, so I've been fine there.

AT&T announced that HBO Max rolled out of the gate with 3 million subscribers and now has 4.1M. Paltry numbers when compared with Disney+. I mean, if they ever get that Roku and Amazon deals done, then they may have chance

They don't say if that includes people who are getting it for "free" due to other AT&T products. I technically have it but I've only watched it for less than an hour since launch. It does me no harm to keep the account active but I almost don't care anymore - if I were paying for it I would absolutely have cancelled by now.
So yeah, those are not quite Quibi numbers, but they are crappy for being such a big brand. I'm trying to think of a rollout that was mishandled quite as much. Quibi's sucked but the pandemic and the entire disruption of our way of life had more to do with that, I think. Sega 32x or Saturn? HDDVD?
I don't care about the details of the pissing contest between HBO and Roku/Amazon. I am a Roku household, as are many, and many are Amazon Fire households. I'm not going to reinvent all my viewing patterns for one channel/service; there's enough other channels out there to watch. "Buy a new TV" or "Buy a Chromecast" are not acceptable solutions.

Oh, and Harley Quinn is great. I bought S1 on Vudu a while back and am working through. Looking forward to seeing S2. But if I can't see it, oh well.

Edited: Just saw on Hollywood Reporter that the 4.1 million includes "more than 1 million wholesale customers from AT&T wireless packages that include HBO Max. About 3 million customers were regular retail subscribers." So about 75% of the install base are paying customers. Oh, and the launch was "flawless" according to AT&T CEO.
Same article reports D+ with just under 55 million, Netflix with 193 million, and a combined 36.3 million for HBO and HBO Max, up 5 percent since year-end 2019. Targeting 50 million by 2025.

It's not just the AT&T people. I have HBOMax, but it's because I have HBO on my Comcast subscription, but I also would have cancelled HBO on my Comcast subscription if I didn't get HBOMax with it. Am I counted anywhere? I'm sure there are a lot of legacy people like that out there.

They probably counted you twice as both HBO and Max.

Of course they counted you, if they took out all the legacy HBO subscribers no way they'd even have had 3 million at launch.

I doubt it. HBO has a total of 36M subscribers. I'm probably counted only in the HBO category.

It's interesting, the Hollywood reporter calls the 3 million the "retail" subscribers, so likely subscribing directly to HBO Max, instead of getting it as a bonus, like from an HBO cable subsciption.

Amazon Fire will drop support for HBO Now on Friday.

So if that's your streaming device of choice, you will have no HBO at all until a deal gets made with HBO Max.

Anyone having trouble with the HBO Max App on PlayStation 4? I have had it crash a couple times on me while I was watching The Alienist.
