Re: Disney+ streaming service

I wonder if they'll bring over the Young Adventures eventually too. Weren't those on Paramount for a period of time? They don't seem to be streaming anywhere currently.

eta: it looks like it will be available on the 31st too.

Disney dumping 30 shows between Disney + and Hulu

Big Shot, Willow, Y the last man and Dollface included.

Surprised they are also dumping Jeff Goldblum's show too.

I'm surprised, too. Talk about saying if it didn't find an audience right away, no audience will find it ever.

I like the Jeff Goldblum show, too bad.

Have had Willow in the watchlist for a while and hadn't gotten around to it yet. Guess that's not happening now.

Also have had Dollface in the watchlist for a while and hadn't gotten around to it yet either. Guess that's not happening now as well.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

What kind of residual deals did they sign for these projects that they’d rather shelve them then keep them on the service?

Re: Disney+ streaming service

That's kinda BS that they're pulling stuff that hasn't even been on the service for a year.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I've been meaning to watch the Howard Ashman documentary some day, but looks like they're pulling that. Pretty disrespectful. Hoped to finish the Jeff Goldblum show at some point but it's not really high priority viewing. I hope they don't pull the ILM series...still need to get to that one.

I bet it has more to do with licensing to FAST than paying residuals. Sounds like that is in the cards for Disney content now.

LoL. Just like the unwatched disc pile, there's only so much time in the week. 168 hours last I checked.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I completely forgot that because of covid Artemis Fowl didn't have a theatrical release, otherwise it would've stood out. But yeah these all seem to be stuff made for Disney +, it's still weird to me that they'd do this.

Also they are removing Stargirl but not the sequel?

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Also maybe this was posted earlier but starting with Echo (the Hawkeye spinoff) looks like they are going the Netflix dump strategy instead of week to week:

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Yeah that news was posted in the MCU TV thread

Out of all those titles that are being dropped, I can see that nothing really screamed "Must watch" And I know at least for this forum, most here just don't have enough time to keep up with smaller shows/movies.

BTW, they haven't been all dropped yet. I think they get dropped in a few weeks.

It looks like Disney+ changed their mind on the Howard Ashman documentary as it will stay. So I don't need to get to that right away. I do need to watch the making of Willow show, but it looks like it's only around half an hour anyway. Is that Stuntman doc any good?

Re: Disney+ streaming service

This also makes me feel like Disney+ (at least the non Hulu side) will be even more just Disney Channel, Star Wars and Marvel, with maybe something in between with a short leash (I really hope that Percy Jackson series is good and does well)
