No, 2021. That must be a picture from last year.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Decent deal if the $25 Uber Eats order was not tied to your first Uber Eats order. I have used Uber Eats several times already, so that perk to re-subscribe to Disney+ would be wasted on me. I am sure more deals will be coming, especially as Disney is aware a ton of 3 year subscriptions expire starting around what, the months of September or October (I know lots of people are like me started up on Disney+ in November).

Big fan of the behind the scenes/making of Disney shows/movies, so I will actually be watching the making of Dr Strange before Stranger Things, lol.

ETA: Forgot to update this post that the Making of Dr. Strange was delayed to 07/08/22

Re: Disney+ streaming service

The thing that sucks about the 20th Century studios movies that are on Disney + is that none of the behind the scenes/bonus material and commentaries are brought over. I know probably 90% of Disney +'s viewers probably don't really care about the bonus content, but it's still a lot of good stuff that's omitted. That's why I will always be glad that I still have all the 4Ks and BDs for the FOX X-Men and Deadpool movies.

Logan has a black and white cut that's not on here. And the Deadpool movies have Unrated extended cuts.

I guess this is really just for people looking for something quick to watch and not being a film nerd.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Oops, my bad. I honestly haven't looked at my Deadpool 1 BD in a while and didn't realize it was only an R rated version. Sorry to get you excited for nothing

My point really was that the bonus material from the 20th century movies aren't being ported over to Disney +, so unless you simply don't care about bonus material, you shouldn't rely on this as your all in one source.

But, at least Disney and Marvel are still doing it for their movies and the 1 hour plus documentaries they are making for some of their newer movies and shows.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

looks like I joined 8/28/2019, so only a couple weeks left at my $4/month pricing? I might just try to finish off some unwatched series then take a break and see if they run some promotions or discounted bundles in the future.

Oh, it looks like I paid early, and my billing date is 11/12.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I have the $19.99 premium bundle (Hulu No Ads, Disney+ No Ads, and ESPN+) Luckily it will not be increasing in price for now.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I'm not surprised about the price increase. They are investing heavily in new scripted content and the previous introductory price from 2019 was not sustainable.

I've got the $9.99 Hulu + Spotify Premium bundle, so hopefully I don't get hit with the Hulu price increases.

This is definitely the best deal (for ad free), even if you don't want ESPN+. Though it means no more hopping accounts to get dirt cheap hulu with ads black friday deals.
I'm kind of surprised they have the price hike right after most of our 3 year deals expire, which means we get one more year at current rates.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Perry, you and I must have both been on DVD talk at practically the same time when folks were talking about the 3 year special price promo for Disney+ in 2019, because my renewal date is also 11/12/22. I do think that Disney+ might offer another special promo for folks who want to lock in a decent price over a 1-2 year period.

It will not be as great a price as what we were offered in 2019, obviously, and they might not even offer a 3 year pre-paid term and just monthly or an annual pre-paid offer, but we will get some sort of promo because a ton of folks could potentially let their subscription lapse in November due to all the 3 year deals expiring around that time. A mass loss of subscribers in November of this year would be awkward, so cautiously optimistic we get a deal that at least knocks an average of $1 per month off of the new rate.

I could live with a $2 bump, but knowing that $1-2 increases will be the new norm as the years fly by means Disney+ could start to get into Netflix expensive territory if they are not careful. We are probably 3-5 years out from that happening, but time goes by fast and you end up taking a peek at your monthly costs for your streaming services and realize you might be paying nearly double what you were per month just a few years earlier.

I get Hulu with Ads for free from it being grandfathered in when T-Mobile bought Sprint, but I hear that may be change soon and I will incur a fee. I might want to consider getting the premium bundle in November and enjoy the upgrade to Hulu w/no ads and I can care les about ESPN+, but it is still nice that is included.

You essentially get ESPN+ for free with the $19.99 bundle. Also, it'll be $15 cheaper than paying for each service individually.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

If the service gets too expensive, they'll either need to get better at adding content or people will just do what they should already be doing, rotating services all the time because it's not like any of us have the time to watch all this content.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

That’s why I like to pay for an entire year and not have to think about a recurring monthly bill.

But yes I know it’s next to impossible to consume all these shows and movies with the limited time we have in a day and then try to keep up with multiple subscriptions.

No, it's even better than that, at least for the no ads tier

The new prices are:
Disney + premium (no ads): 10.99, 109.99 annually (9.17)
Hulu Premium 14.99

Disney + premium and Hulu premium and ESPN+ 20.00

Even at an annual price you save five bucks plus get ESPN+ for "free." The legacy plan (Disney no ads, Hulu with ads, ESPN+) is like a dollar cheaper. The with ads options also save you like 5 bucks They're definitely pushing towards a bundle.

Yeah I did the math and added them up and you save $15 over paying for each individually each month.
