It's probably to idiot-proof it, so people don't download it early and complain they can't get in right away. Never underestimate people's willful ignorance.

Not a sense of security, but I was hoping the app would be available so I could get it set up over the long weekend. Guess I know what I’m doing Tuesday night.

That’s possible, but I downloaded the Hallmark Channel app without subscribing, and when I opened it, it showed me trailers and stuff that I would be able to watch if I subscribed. I don’t see why they couldn’t do that, or let us add stuff to our watchlists as OldBoy said.

And I get that the heaviest load will be when people actually start watching, but think it would make sense to at least lighten the load of people trying to sign in and stuff.

But whatever. It won’t make a huge difference either way.

When you signed up, you created your credentials. Your email and password you created.

I think it should be the same Disney account if you have DMR, ESPN, etc.

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere (I didn't see it), but Disney + officially launches at 9AM Eastern time Tuesday. Just a heads up for any of you who were planning staying up late Monday night (it won't be a midnight launch).

I posted it on the last page, hence the discussion we're having about when the app will drop.

my countdown clock indicates that it’s available at 6 a.m. Eastern.... just over 20 hours from now.

Yeah according to the countdown clock on the DisneyPlus.com page, it says it launches at 3am PT.

I have no plans to stay up that late or get up that early to watch The Mandalorian.

I’m curious, but what incentive does Apple have to make the App available right when the service launches? Right at 9:00? I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple takes its sweet time posting the App for download.
