I just got a flyer in the mail from Disney Visa Rewards that's a promo for Disney+. There's a couple of promo codes inside, 1 for a 2 year subscription, totaling $119.99, and another code for a 3 year subscription for $169.99. While not as good as the D23 promo, it looks like there will still be opportunities to get a discount before it goes live.

My kids are going to go nuts watching those.

Holy cow, I belong to about 3 Disney+ Facebook groups and seeing all the screenshots coming out of the Netherlands, plus all of the positive comments about picture and sound quality. November 12 can't get here soon enough!

Okay, so the Netherlands Beta is confirming that Disney+ is NOT providing an app for Samsung Smart TVs, which is a bummer. We had already purchased a Roku UItra when we picked up our Samsung QLED 65in back at the end of July, but returned it when it turned out all the apps we currently used were available on Samsung. We've already prepurchased the three-year Disney+ deal, and it's looking like we will be re-purchasing the Ultra, unless something happens between now and November.

What I think in interesting is that DisneyLive in the UK is supported on Samsung Smart TVs 2015 and newer, and I thought the architecture is supposed to be similar.

Shoot, we were hoping for Samsung support, too. That's surprising, isn't Samsung basically tops for TVs, these days?

On an unrelated note, our new Samsung has Samsung TV, which we love (24-hour Rifftrax channel!) but our old one, which really isn't that old, I think maybe... 2015?) and I wish it did. Oh, well.

I already have access to all of the episodes* via FX on demand in YouTube TV and FXNow (thanks for the cable login, Mom!), not to mention my DVDs, but I'm curious to see what Disney+'s UI for that section of content will be like. And hopefully it includes the commentaries and OAR options for all of the episodes. I've been watching the show through YouTube TV, but just checked FXNow for the first time in ages and it looks like it has curiously removed all that stuff. (Simpsons World on your browser still has all of the extras, but... it's on your browser.)

I've seen several YouTube videos showing demos from the Netherlands. The amount of catalog content from Disney is quite good. And the version they are getting over there is not even the complete version coming on November 12th. It's only going to get better in the next 2 years.

I have a 10 year old niece and whenever she comes over to watch TV, the 1st thing she syncs up is Netflix. Hopefully I can get her on board with watching this as well.

But I'm looking forward to it.

Some people claim they only subscribe to streaming services for the new and original movies and shows and not catalog content. I think this will satisfy both parties who love both.
