I still don't see the obsession over that movie. It's not that great.

I did a double take at the Stargirl film, considering DC Universe has a Stargirl tv show lined up.

I hope they're including the live action movies from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Lots of times when they talk about the Disney movie library, they're only talking about the classic cartoon films.

I can say that our plan on the Disney side is to price this substantially below where Netflix is.
I wonder what he thinks is "substantially?" $5 per month would be substantial to me. It would take me to being interested. Unless he's talking about a yearly plan.

It's going to be more that $5 a month (certainly) and less than $15 a month. My guess? Somewhere in the $12 range and/or $120 per year for people who want a discount. My question is if Disney will launch with 4K streaming on some titles/shows, or if they'll just be doing 1080p for a while.

I'd be really surprised if this launches at more than $10. I'm guessing it'll be in the $5.99-$7.99 range. They can always raise prices later. But to start out, I think the price will be low to get as many subscribers as possible.

I figure that the pricing will be lower than Netflix because Disney owns all the content that will be on there so there isn't any licensing costs

That didn't stop DC Universe from launching at $8 a month with virtually NO content (and all of it owned by Warners). I'll be shocked if it's $10 a month...I'll sign up for that, but still be shocked if it's that low. I'm still thinking $12 is the "sweet spot" for Disney.

I'm throwing a dart at $8.99 a month... would probably be in if they offered a year at $99, don't think I'd subscribe for anything double digits...

Yeah that sounds right up my alley.

Man roll in Marvel Comics Unlimited at a discount and I'm even more in.

So I see Netflix is losing Clone Wars in April.

Do we have release date for the Disney+ service yet?

I wish all of the old cartoons featuring Micky and Minnie, Donald and Goofy will be shown. I haven't seen any of those since I was a kid.

Launches November 12th. $6.99/month or $69.99/year. Easy buy for me.

Done and done.

To put this in perspective this is less than DC Universe (granted DC Universe just got a whole lot better if they really add all those comics to it)

They are going to get their hooks in you and raise the price every year like Netflix did, but man... Netflix just raised their prices too. If they don't change to a cheaper, annual pass, I'm going to be dropping them and subscribing like every 6 months or so to binge.

Disney is going for Netflix's throat with that $7 a month price.

By 2025, that monthly fee will be something ridiculous like $19.95. It's only going up once they establish a user base.

It's a pretty safe bet. Look at YouTube TV. Started at $35/month and now, two years later, it's $50.

Look at everyone in this thread that's jumping at D+ low price. No way it will stay there.

Eh, enjoy the price now and don't worry about it. Unless they are putting subliminal messages in it to force you to subscribe, you can always not renew (if I were a youtube TV subscriber, I would have cancelled). Hopefully the competition between the streaming services will result in somewhat stagnant prices, though.

Netflix at least still has the adult content stuff covered; the problem is going to be if Disney bundles this with Hulu for cheaper than Netflix.

And whoever is in charge of Apple+ has to go back to the drawing board on price tonight, I'm sure.

Man this is coming to the Nintendo Switch too?
