re: DC Universe streaming service

DC Universe has apparently picked up the rights to the SyFy show Krypton. It was announced today on DC Daily and will be available in 2019.

It’s kind of a guilty pleasure movie for me even though I know it’s not good. Just bought the Blu-ray when it released though.

Helen Slater is still the best Supergirl.

Looking at the release schedule as of now it doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of incentive to sign up now. It feels like something I’ll wait on until next Fall or sometime before the Harley series starts and catch up with the other original shows (if they’re well reviewed).
The first four Batman films all went over to Vudu (as free selections). My guess is they had a deal in place for October with Warners for the titles.

re: DC Universe streaming service

The upcoming direct-to-video original animated movies Reign of The Supermen, Justice League vs. The Fatal Five, and Batman: Hush will all join DC Universe.

Want even more Superman mythos in your diet? Season 1 of the hit TV series Krypton lands on DC Universe in 2019.

2019's Young Justice: Outsiders animated series is getting its own prequel comic book next year, created exclusively for DC Universe by the show's producer Greg Weisman and artist Christopher Jones.

Speaking of comics, DC Universe will have some new ones this month that we think you'll love, including the classics New Teen Titans #13-20 (from 10/2-10/15) and New Teen Titans #21-41 (from 10/16 -10/29), as well as the masterful Batman: The Long Halloween #1-13 (from 10/23 – 11/5) and its sequel Batman: Dark Victory (from 10/30-11/12).

Batman: The Long Halloween is probably the best graphic novel in the character's history.

Just got an email from WB with deal for $59.99/year. Considering jumping on at that price. Not much of a deal but still $15 savings. Looks like it is on their site too from what I can see.

IMO that's a good deal for 1 year. It's about 5 bucks per month, which is what I'm paying from the early bird price.

I would go in, Young Justice season 3 launches in a few weeks and you'll have the full 11 episodes of Titans to binge soon.

Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing and a few others are coming in the new year. This price should last you through all the new launches this upcoming year.

$5 per month is nothing to be able to have all this new upcoming content.

Price is more enticing now, but I’m still waiting for an app for Xbox.

What is the normal price? 7.99? I still think there's not enough content to commit for a year, instead of subbing for a month here and a month there.

edited to add: there's another promotion for 3.99 for the first three months.

I'd consider it at that price, but I don't like paying for stuff up front like that. I think this is the type of thing I'd subscribed to for a month here and there, but not need for a year.

That’s my thoughts on it too. I probably won’t use it enough to justify paying $60 for a full year. It seems like a service I’d rather get for a month or two and catch up with what I want to watch.

re: DC Universe streaming service

Eh, if they have new content every week for the year, saves me from subbing for a month or two here and there and binging the shit out of it. I'm probably going to sign up today. I do want this to succeed if only for the fact that they brought Young Justice back for this.

I took the 59.99 plunge. I may actually make myself use this for more than just the Shows. I may start reading some comics again and pay attention to the DC News.

Did they expand the comics content on this, or is it still like a small rotating list? I had completely forgotten about that until Giantrobo mentioned it just now.

Ah, and I just saw that the Green Lantern animated series is coming in January. I already have the Blu-ray set, but that's awesome news.

For what I pay for it, I think I more than get my money worth each month. Between revisiting the shows(yes I have a lot on DVD/Blu but still), checking out the new shows and reading the comics I think the value is more than there.

Good for you man. I think you'll dig Titans. Plus lots more new original content is coming soon in 2019. It will be totally worth the minimal money you're spending.

I also really enjoy the daily DC Daily news show. They cover pretty much all DC like comics, movies and TV shows and have panels talking about all of it.

re: DC Universe streaming service

Will these shows/films stay on DC Universe forever or will they be taken down after a period with some coming back after awhile while others never return like on Netflix and Hulu? I like having access to the Animated Films to view whenever I want however many times I want..

Yeah so far I'm loving Titans and look forward to the new shows. I haven't made it to the Comics section yet but i'm interested in reading new stuff and re-reading some of what i've seen listed.
