Not surprising though as they are winding down this service and moving some stuff to HBO Max.
It's replaying right now in 2 more 8 hour blocks. Having it available on the web will get more traffic than DC Universe since this is being televised worldwide.

DC Fandome is free to all, DCU has a paywall in place without free content. So no way to add it to DCU.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

They should have still streamed it within DC Universe (in addition to their site). IMHO. I mean none of it was live and it shouldn't be hard to put content up. That is if the service wasn't all but dead.

But heck, they should have added a section to HBO Max as well.

That was my thought. Basically we had no way to get it to our TV so we missed out. Here's to hoping we can get to some of it via something (other than the boots on YouTube) to our TV. Not really interested in sitting in front of the Laptop for hours.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

So, uh, are they going to lower the price?

edited to add:
Nope:
DC UNIVERSE INFINITE will be available online at DCUniverseInfinite.com, iOS and Android devices for $7.99 a month or $74.99 a year ($6.25 a month). On February 1, 2021, every DC UNIVERSE INFINITE subscriber, existing members or those joining during the pre-order offer window will receive a special thank you voucher redeemable at the DC Shop subject to terms and conditions. Annual subscribers will receive a $25 voucher, while monthly subscribers will receive a $10 voucher.

Here’s the official press release. And it also confirms the price point

Its up to all of you if you think you read enough to make it worth it.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

On the plus side they changed the delay to 6 months instead of 12, which is in line with Marvel Comics Unlimited. But not budging on price and basically removing the entire video part of the service: from just a value standpoint that seems way out of wack to me, and I'm a big comics fan. It's even 5 bucks more than the Marvel offering on an annual basis. I think it makes more sense to subscribe for a month and then cancel, then subscribe again later than to go for an annual plan.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

I no likey dis shit here I liked reading stuff on my TV due to large screen. I'm all for the comics only transition as it's a cool way for me to get back into reading DC comics, but this not being able to read on my TV may be a deal breaker.

On what platforms will DC UNIVERSE INFINITE be available?
DC UNIVERSE INFINITE will be available for iPhone, iPad, Android Phone and Tablets and online for web and mobile web at dcuniverseinfinite.com.

Will I have access to DC UNIVERSE INFINITE on my TV or Amazon tablet?
In December of 2020 DC UNIVERSE will no longer be available on Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon TV and tablet, and Xbox apps.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

Well dang. I already got charged so my cancellation won’t be effective until October. So I basically got one more month of DC Universe.

I enjoyed the big screen as well. Not so sure how I feel as I have about 5 months left on my subscription (with HBO Max add on). Once the video content moves to HBO Max and the app is removed from Roku, not so sure how much I'll enjoy the service.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

App officially left Roku today. Can still access the streaming content via Android App on phone (yet have no way to cast to TV - Motorola issue which cannot be overcome). I suspect it happened to coincide with HBO Max coming to Roku. Not all content moved to HBO Max unfortunately.

I was in middle of a special on the origin of DC Comics. Part way into Season 2 of Legion of Superheroes. A few episodes in to Lois and Clark. Wanted to see the original Wonder Woman TV movie from early 70s. Wanted to watch Superboy at some point. Just a few examples of content not ported over.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

I'm gonna do a re-up. I checked and It seems my renewal will still be $59 on 12/31 so I'll just read shit on my phone.

Where did you see that for your renewal?

My renewal through amazon said it would be $59, but I tried to "convert" the subscription and they said they would no longer offer subs through amazon because it's no longer a video service. So I think mine is going to just expire despite this being set to auto renew.

Just as well because I just bit on Marvel Unlimited, but I would've liked to have both.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

I emailed DC Universe via "contact us" or "help" and asked if my renewal would be $59 or $74 and if i could just pay before the renewal date. I was also thinking of doing the $7mo but decided to ask before canceling. They claim it will be $59 at renewal. Also, i got my sub and discount direct through DC Universe when i signed up.

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I can confirm that as long as your membership remains active through to your next renewal date, you will be charged your current membership price of $59.99. Unfortunately we do not offer the option to purchase memberships early. You will need to wait until your renewal date to be charged.

Please let me know if we can assist with anything else! Sincerely,

Re: DC Universe streaming service

Movies and shows are still on the phone app. I think they go in Jan. Maybe the website still has them too. But as said above the Roku app is gone. They have it redirecting to other warner apps.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

Forwarding address.

Noticed it stated "similar" shows and movies. Some content is no longer available anywhere.

Human Target Season 2
Many of the documentaries.
No comic books.

I hope they love the missing content to the DC section of HBO Max.

It does suck though that I can no longer read any comics on the big screen. (No I cannot cast from my phone to anything but a Chromecast due to OS limitations - which I suspect are to force the purchase of Chromecast. It is complete PITA to set up in a way to cast or HDMI from Laptop to the TV as well.)

Re: DC Universe streaming service

FYI they charged me for a new year, and when you go to "cancel" it said it would take effect Dec 2021!
So I had to contact them and get a refund, which they did. I was annoyed at myself for not staying on top of it but I was more annoyed they didn't send a renewal email (which they had done the previous year.)

Re: DC Universe streaming service

My sub was cancelled without me asking. It expires on the 26th of this month and I was going to cancel it today. When I logged in, I had a message on my settings that the membership was successfully cancelled and my membership ends on the 26th. It was a fun ride while it lasted, and I hope that all the content makes it through to HBO Max.

Re: DC Universe streaming service

I decided I would just watch the last bit of content I didn't finish via my phone today. Well to add to the crappy way they are decommissioning the service, those titles were removed from their video offerings. The Movies and TV section has been reduced to way less. So if there is something that is on DCU and not anywhere else I suggest watching it ASAP before it's gone (ie Human Target Season 2).

I really wouldn’t stress too much. I’m pretty sure most of the popular programs will segue to HBO Max.

I was in the middle of a documentary on the history of DC Comics as well as Legion of Superheroes animated Series.

I'd suspect Legion will make it to HBO Max yet doubt the documentary will make it.
