Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

If anyone is a fan of the Great American channels, Great American Family and Great American Faith and Living were added to YouTube TV recently. I only watch a couple Christmas movies on there once or twice a year.

I don't have Youtube TV, but it worked this morning for the two co-workers of mine that I sent it to who do.
Thanks.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Now that YouTube TV is quickly escalating up the cable food chain they seem to be battling with a new carriage provider every other week. Fox a couple weeks ago, TelevisaUniversal this week.

That was quick... it was just a short term deal yesterday.

Yeah... between this and if they come to terms with Disney giving YouTube TV subscribers full access to the ESPN app... definite price increase coming.

Yet another dispute. This time with ABC and Disney. Likely leading to yet another price increase. i don't have YouTube TV, but I mean for Christ's sake, the disputes and price hikes are just endless.

Since none of you watch live scripted TV anyways, this really only affects sports on ESPN and ABC.

YouTube TV and Disney didn't reach a deal. I guess no Monday Night Football or Vols game for me this week.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

* In order to deliver a wide variety of sports, news, and entertainment programming on YouTube TV, we enter into agreements with network partners. Each time we renew our contracts with these partners, we advocate for fair pricing and greater flexibility to offer our subscribers the best possible live TV experience. Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library. * We know how disruptive it is to lose channels you enjoy, which is why it’s our goal to bring Disney content back to YouTube TV. We’re committed to continuing to work with Disney to reach an agreement, but if their content is unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $20 credit. * You can continue to watch Disney’s sports programming by signing up for ESPN directly. For more information on the impact to our 4K Plus and Spanish Plus add-ons, please visit our Help Center. * Thank you for your patience as we continue to advocate on behalf of our subscribers and work towards a new agreement with Disney. We will continue to update our Help Center with the latest. As always, family managers have the ability to cancel anytime. * We appreciate your YouTube TV membership. * Sincerely,The YouTube TV team

with $20 off for lack of ABC and $20 from the current promo I'm on, at least it'll be a very cheap month of YouTube TV

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Disney is urging YTTV to accept a deal because people won't have their election coverage.

Yes, I am totally sure this is the reason and not the millions of viewers they will lose on MNF.

Tbh this is one of the last straws for me. I think I am going to pause YTTV after NFL season is over and see how it goes until it rolls around again in 2026. I only watch sports live, so there are plenty of ways to do this without constantly having these threats of losing content.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Apparently YouTube TV rejected Disney's plea to let them kept the ABC News stations up for Election coverage.

and actually there is a free ABC News streaming channel.

I never made the switch to streaming live TV. I still have DirecTV. Just seems like it's getting more and more expensive and I know a lot of you guys are trying to save money on your entertainment. And it's probably getting super annoying dealing with this all the time.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

I'm getting tired of the carriage disputes. I mainly have YouTube TV for Sports and The Challenge on MTV. I'm pretty unhappy not being able to watch the Vols game on Saturday and Monday Night Football tonight.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

I grew up in a house with a roof antenna. Then in 1982, my parents hooked up cable and I've been without an antenna until 2013. I cut the cord, hooked up a roof antenna and streamed. Best of both worlds.

Why pay for OTA when it's waiting for you to grab it?

Yeah I have crappy one connected and get all the ota channels.

My Sony and most newer TVs have NextGen tuners and some major tv stations offer Dolby Vision and Atmos ota.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

That's assuming you can get a signal. Some people live too far away from the towers or at the bottom of hills and can't get reception. Growing up I could barely get three of the five local stations on the antenna at the family farm. ABC, CBS, and NBC. I couldn't get the FOX or WB stations and I really tried. I would be spinning the antenna 360 degrees multiple times to no luck. The digital channels now tend to be weaker than analog and I doubt I could even get a signal now. Crossville is on the far end of both the Nashville and Knoxville markets.

Well, if you bail on YouTube TV, you’ll need to spend $30/month for ESPN Unlimited if you want their all access sports access.

I mean ESPN is likely losing MLB after this next season. You can get NBA all access if you need NBA, other than the national games. You can sort of work around it for cheaper than YTTV. I used to be a big proponent of YTTV, but it has got the price point where it is damn near the same price as cable or satellite.

I wish YTTV would stick to their guns and refuse to bow the knee to the greedy mouse. I can go without sports for a while in order to not get yet another price increase.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

You all may want to double check, but apparently Disney has pulled their content from YouTube and the google store. I don’t know if this affects content you “bought”. I just saw a blurb online.

According to this, if you "bought" content you can still access it.

I found the best way to cure a Sports addiction/habit is to have a baby or two. I found sitting down all day or even 3 hours doesn't work with the kids.

Ok I figured that was the case. Imagine how many would lose their minds if they pulled content they paid for.

I’m sure many only use the Google store for VOD purchases.
