On the contrary there's a sweet spot when the baby is young enough to sleep all day that watching sports/movies/playing games is like all you can do.

Now once they're older and either demand the tv or have activities you have to go to every Sunday...

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

I guess JJ Watt also has YouTube TV, because he's also sick of this

If you read this and don't know who he is, he's a former NFL player and current broadcaster.

(There are a few in this thread who don't watch sports)

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Why would you be paying for youtube tv if you don't watch sports?

I remember those days all too well. Between lack of sleep and still having to go to work, the last thing I wanted to do is watch a sporting event.

JJ Watt made over 100m in his career. Pretty sure he can swing a month of Disney+ to watch MNF.

But it is not D+. You have to get ESPN, a separate service.

Wow... this really has gone nuclear between Google and Disney.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Just got an email we are getting the $20 credit for not having the Disney channels. I guess you have to do something to claim it. Email next week how to redeem.

You can claim the $20 off your next bill by clicking on your main account image, going to settings, updates, and select the claim button.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

We tried cable in 1989 and it was noticeably WORSE than what we got from our roof antenna, and all the cable-only channels were in mono with bad satellite reception. We dumped it faster than a hot potato. Haven’t even seen cable anywhere since the digital thing happened, but I have seen streaming TV that actually looked BETTER than over the air, which doesn’t make sense but apparently OTA uses more compression.

It is being reported Disney is losing approximately $4.3 million a day without YTTV deal.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

More accurately, the article should say Disney is not receiving additional $4.3 million per day.

Disney is really going after Youtube blaming this whole thing on them. Lol.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Went through this with DirecTV last year. It lasted 2 weeks. They promised a credit I redeemed on their site but never got. The Nextstar blackout just before lasted months but I did get the $20 credit from that. DirecTV ended up including ad-tier Disney+ as part of the service. About a month later rates went up $7 and then this year another $10. They all get their money back in the end.

Re: YouTube TV -- Live TV streaming service

Hopefully this is a typo in the article....

Under the new agreement, ESPN’s full lineup of sports — including content from ESPN Unlimited — will be made available on YouTube TV to base-plan subscribers at no additional cost by the end of 2026.

Looks like I have everything back except for ABC. It's only available on demand as of right now.
