It did win the Razzie award for Worst Picture that year. Tom Cruise also starred in that year’s Best Picture winner Rain Man.

I wouldn’t fret about it. You’d still need to spend $15 if you wanted it for that $5 price.

So on a whim I tried Pride and Prejudice and it also states redeeming HD. Glad you were able to get something in 4K. I will be content with Tower Heist in HD.

Interesting. And interesting that you said "I tired it", because when I redeemed my code, it actually accessed my library, showed me my options to either get a new movie or get a 4K upgrade (movies that were available in HD but already in my library were greyed out). I was totally unaware that was an option before it was offered to me.

Basically I could pick the movie and it went to the next screen to commit to the selection.

I didn't take a screenshot of the selections where it didn't allow an upgrade on Leap Year.

For the Disney/Fox selection there is option to upgrade to 4K for anything already in the library.

And btw it was the same when I originally was doing this via the PC.

Yes, 4K redemption was removed because of “consumer confusion” since 4K rights would be in MA but very few or no retailers had 4K versions yet.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

I decided to 4K Pitch Perfect instead of getting Tower Heist in HD.

Other 4K opportunities were San Andreas and the two Alien movies, and War for the Planet of the Apes which I picked. As noted, Pride and Prejudice and Leap Year didn’t have the option.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is having a Kickstarter to... you know what, that part isn’t important right now.

But if you back it for $1, then do a $10 or $15 add on, you can get 10 or 18 classic episodes. They’ll be available through Vimeo (DRM free) some time after the Kickstarter ends in May.

You can also add the 14 episode season 11 for $60, or the 6 episode season 12 for $30.

The campaign has reached its funding goal, so there’s no real risk with these add ons, you just have to wait at least a few weeks.

Re: The kinda all streaming deals thread

I keep an inventory of all our Digital titles ever since CinemaNOW went out and we lost some titles. It has served us we'll in some of the digital rights fiascos of the last couple years.

When I checked Tower Heist on all our MA linked providers, Microsoft shows the Extended Edition owned not the theatrical. All other linked providers show it accurately as the Theatrical. Oddly enough Microsoft shows both versions as being MA compatible while at this time only the theatrical is MA enabled.

^ Interestingly I own the "Special Edition" of Tower Heist on VUDU and it's NOT a Movies Anywhere title at all.

Exactly. So basically if someone picked up Tower Heist (like some of us did in the recent B1G1 MA sale), they likely got the Extended on Microsoft movies (if linked) instead of Theatrical. Which Microsoft lists both as MA while the Extended, as you've stated, is not MA.

Roku has an ad to receive $6 off a rental or purchase from Row8. I haven’t heard of this service, has anyone used it before? Is it part of MA?

I haven’t heard of it either, and I assume it’s not MA because they’re very clear about plastering their partner names everywhere.

I bit on that one. The first and second are worth watching. I only have the Holland movies and Spider-Verse on digital, and I don’t really need the Garfields.
