Defiant, what show in particular are you referencing?

The Brady Bunch is also missing episodes.
And the original CSI is licensed out in full to Hulu. So CBS AA is only carrying seasons 1, 2 and 15.
CBS's licensing for their older shows is a mess, so I can understand the frustrations with catalog content.

CBS All Access is kind of an oddity as a streaming service. There’s stuff on there, but a lot of it you can find elsewhere, and they don’t have a lot of really great original content that makes them worth subscribing to.
The new Trek shows are probably the biggest draws if a person is into them. It’s cool to have the classic Trek shows on there too, but they’re on other services like Netflix and Prime Video.

Jag. I had considered watching that, and then noticed it was missing episodes. And then when I investigated further, I saw that it was missing episodes from two parters (when I compared it to epguide's episode guide). And I don't think they were end of seasons.

CBS AllAccess becomes Paramount +
From TV Line:
CBS All Access is getting a new name — and a fresh slate of original series to go along with it.
The streamer will be rebranded as Paramount+ in early 2021, ViacomCBS announced on Tuesday. (See the new logo pictured above.) The new name is part of a previously announced relaunch of the streaming service, which will combine original content with shows from CBS and cable outlets MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Network and Nickelodeon.
“Paramount is an iconic and storied brand beloved by consumers all over the world, and it is synonymous with quality, integrity and world-class storytelling,” president and CEO Bob Bakish said in a statement. “With Paramount+, we’re excited to establish one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to offer an extraordinary collection of content for everyone to enjoy.”
Along with the name change, Paramount+ is developing five new original series:
* The Offer, a scripted limited series about the making of the iconic Oscar-winning film The Godfather, told from the perspective of film producer Al Ruddy, who will serve as an executive producer. Michael Tolkin (Escape From Dannemora) will write and also serve as an EP.
* Lioness, a spy drama from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan that “follows a young Marine recruited to befriend the daughter of a terrorist to bring the organization down from within.”
* A reboot of the classic VH1 docuseries Behind the Music titled MTV’s Behind the Music — The Top 40 that “will unlock MTV’s vault from the past 40 years for a unique and intimate look at the 40 biggest artists of all time, through their voices and their eyes.”
* The Real Criminal Minds, a true-crime series based on the long-running CBS drama.
* A revival of the hit BET drama The Game.

That is such weird rebranding. Everyone knows CBS and Paramount means nothing any more. They made great movies in the Seventies. Now if not for Tom Cruise, I don’t know if they would still even be a studio. And the only TV show on the Paramount tv channel that I could name (Yellowstone) is on a rival streaming service.

A lot of younger people associate CBS with just being the old folks network. CSI... NCIS... etc. Not really the target demographic for the bulk of streamers.
This seems to be part of an entire corporate overhaul with the ViacomCBS merger.

Probably nothing in particular, which could be good if you are trying to build up the brand that is going to encompass everything under the Viacom umbrella. Viacom+ wouldn’t work.
They posted a big article on their site about the branding.

The brand has been proven to resonate with consumers around the world. According to internal brand research, Paramount has near-universal brand recognition and high affinity. For example, according to survey results, 99% of people in Spain, 98% of people in the U.K., 96% of people in the U.S., and 90% of people in Mexico are aware of Paramount. In the U.S., Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain, the U.K., and Australia, well over 90% of people said they had a positive view of the brand.

It’s funny how it’s being rebranded Paramount + yet the Paramount network’s highest rated show Yellowstone is streaming exclusively on Peacock.

Re: CBS AllAccess becomes Paramount +
Probably because Paramount doesn’t produce it.

They distribute it. Paramount TV isn’t the production company. Possible that some other arrangement was made for streaming that maybe they’ll have it back when the rebrand happens.

Ah you’re right. Looks like it was independently produced.
But yeah once the Peacock contract runs out, I’m sure it will make it’s way to Paramount + Shit moves around in streaming all the time.

I've had this service on trial for almost a month because of Big Brother. The only thing this has that's unique to it is Star Trek and the CBS shows. The Nick stuff is licensed all over the place, the movies seem like basically a mishmash. So hopefully this name change brings with it more content that's not CBS. But those initial reveals are not super exciting, at least for me.
