Why is there no stop on Hulu app? All I can do is pause and then return back to main menu. How could there be no stop?

Does Hulu have a dedicated stop function?

Stop what?

OldBoy 08-23-23 06:40 PM

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Like a tv show or movie. There is no stop, meaning you can only pause. No stop program like every other streamer has.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I just hit the back button

OldBoy 08-23-23 06:51 PM

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Yeah, that’s what I do. I just find it out and a tad annoying.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Hulu isn’t any different the any streaming app.
Its just pause and back button

OldBoy 08-23-23 07:02 PM

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Well, it is different. As the other services have a stop function.

I'm on a Roku and Peacock, Netflix, Plex, and HBO Max also do not have a stop buttons (nothing does but y'know.)

I use Firestick and all those have the stop function.

you forgot Burn Notice.

Fixed.

I’m really not sure what you’re talking about with a stop function.
No remote that I have has a stop button.
I watch mostly on the Atv4K and there’s no stop on that,
no stop on the Firestick, no stop button on the remote for my tv,
Roku doesn’t have a stop button.

That’s what I mean by all the streaming apps just use a back button. No stop button.

What would a stop button do differently than pause for streaming?

He's got his medicinal marijuana card now. The inaneness must be going into overdrive. Just let it be.

It would stop the show and then exit out of it. Like the back button does. But it would have a big square on it.

I dunno, that's all I got.

I'm not positive, and I'm using my Apple TV right now, so not going to check, but I think some apps have an onscreen Stop option. When you Arrow up, the progress bar comes up with other options, such as subtitles. Some have 10 seconds back, etc.
idk I'm not on call today.

In the world of quick resume, everything is just paused. Maybe forever.

OldBoy 08-24-23 05:24 PM

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

It’s not a big deal, but I find sometimes when I pause and back out, it goes back to a different episode and stays there. With stop in the other apps, it resumes at stop. Hulu, not for me. That’s what prompted the question.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Hulu dropped my local CW affiliate from Live TV. Ok, that's frustrating, but oh well.

But what really bothers me is that Hulu deleted all of my Whose Line Is It Anyway CW episodes from the DVR! :grunt:

Yeah looks like I lost CW as well. Not a big deal for my viewing but annoying they didn't at least send a notification that it was happening.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

You should have received an email.

But I noticed I still get local programming and syndicated talk shows and game shows that were on the CW. We just don’t get the CW primetime shows now.

Looks like Hulu is raising prices next month. My Disney bundle premium trio is going up from $19.99 to $24.99. Everything else is also getting price increases across the board.

Meathead 09-08-23 04:10 AM

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I got a similar email but wonder how it actually affects me. I have the Disney bundle thru Verizon and just pay $5 for the ad-free Hulu upgrade. Nothing from Verizon on price changes.
