Hulu is doing there 1.99 a month for a year deal until Nov 28

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

Looking for the best/cheapest way for a current subscriber to get Hulu (ads is fine) and Disney+ (prefer no ads).
I saw something about adding on Disney+ for 2.99. Where do you find that?
I already changed my sub to the HuluAds/DisneyNoads/ESPN bundle for 13.99 (next month 14.99) so I might be out of luck to get any deal. I have no interest in ESPN but if it's in a cheaper bundle I'm OK with it being included.
Subbing to Hulu and D+ for a year prepaid would save just under 20 bucks so that's another option. Reading the fine print it looks like I may not even be able to do that before the prices jump.
And of course not eligible for the current Black Friday deal.
Getting customers is important but I wish some vendors would throw existing customers a bone sometimes as well.

I signed up for Hulu with ads for $1.99 a month and there was an option to add D+ for $2.99 a month as I was checking out.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

I just noticed the Hallmark Channel was added to Hulu Live. Looks like it was added in November, along with some other minor channels.

This might convince my mom to drop Xfinity cable and switch to Hulu Live. I know there is the Hallmark streaming app for a fee, but she hates the idea of jumping through a lot of apps. Hulu Live has all the channels she watches now.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

...I mean if that was the only major requirement, YouTube TV also has Hallmark, Hallmark Mystery and Movies, and Hallmark Drama in their package and has the Hallmark VOD as an optional addon.

Either would be a drastic improvement over Comcast.

Man, Hulu really wants me to sign up for a dating app.

 I know, right? And coming in during breaks of Fleishman is in Trouble really sells the service well.

Is it this one?

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions

:) No, but there are ads for several different dating apps. There's one specifically for black people, one for Latinos, one for Christians, one for people over 50 years old, and then two or three more general ones.

Annoying Hulu Live update:

The default selection when you first launch the app is now the “Live” tab. Meaning it jumps straight onto live programming (the last channel you watched). The same happens when trying to exit - app asks you to confirm exiting, while simultaneously buffering for live tv.

Beforehand, the default selection was the “Home” tab, you know… because that’s what a homepage is for

This might be convoluted but I have Spotify with Hulu (with ads), and the Disney Bundle with Hulu (without ads).

The former is what I have activated. Is there a way to activate the version without ads?

You should be able to Deactivate your Hulu using these directions:

Cancelling your Hulu account
Spotify Premium for Students subscribers can cancel their Hulu account at any time directly from your Spotify account page. To do so, select Your Services under Account Overview then click Deactivate Hulu. Completing this action only removes your access to Hulu — your Spotify account should not be impacted.

You should then be able to activate through the Disney Bundle: https://help.disneyplus.com/csp?id=c...40433d0ebb3595

If you still watch any FOX OTA content like 911, 911 Lonestar, the new shows Accused and Alert and of course the Simpsons and more, you'll still be able to watch it next day on Hulu

They just signed a new extension.

That's weird. I just did an update the other day and it still goes to the homepage.

Didn't know if it should have it's own thread but I started watching the series Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne. She's been going through her own personal journey about her sexuality. She brings her own experiences and thoughts to the series. One interesting part was she spoke with an artist in Japan who's trying to normalize the vulva since Japan doesn't allow to show it. The artist does art with a pussy cast. Cara does her own but wouldn't reveal with artwork was her.

New Hulu Live update moved the top menu to a side bar. I like it. I disliked the top menu since switching options made the pages lag.

And thankfully, the “Live” page being the default page was changed. That didn’t last long (maybe a couple months?). That was horrible.

Same switch for just the basic Hulu service, too.

I just got that update as well on my Firestick. Only problem I encountered was that I had to relog back into Hulu. For some reason it forgot my password on the TV so I had to relog in. Not sure I am liking the new menu. I am wondering why they changed. I guess I do not see the improvment.

Wow, only took like a decade for them to get a good interface

The main improvement I noticed is when you toggle between the menu options (Search, Home, Live, TV, Movies, Sports, My Stuff, Hubs, Settings).

In the old version, the background image would lag in-between option selections. Also, if wanted to go from Home to My Stuff, you would pass the Live option and the app would struggle to load the Live programming because it was passed over quickly in an attempt to go to My Stuff.

Now with the Menu on the left side, the background page doesn’t change until you select the menu option you want. Toggling through the options does nothing until it is selected. Nothing lags.

Yes, very good point. I had forgotten about the lag issue when changing to My Stuff. I wish it actually defaulted to My Stuff.

Does anyone using Hulu Live have an issue where recordings you delete just keep showing back up? Doesn't matter if I delete them via my stream box or the phone app. Next time I open it, they're back. And they're not even really there. If I click on them I just get an error message.

I see some posts on their community page via a search but I can't access the site at work to see if there's a fix.

yes, that happens to me more often than not. I just forget about it, because it will eventually disappear. Usually when I relaunch the app later in the day (or the next day), the recording is gone, as expected.
