Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
I didn’t think Hulu streamed anything in sd.
St Elsewhere is just an awful master. It’s essentially just old vhs tapes they’re airing. |

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Yes, I know it says it on Just Watch, but they are not always correct. I’ve looked up movies and shows there and they told me it was streaming on a service, when it actually wasn’t. Why wouldn’t Hulu say anywhere? Don’t most streaming services tell you what definition they stream in?

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Just discovered this Fun little HULU produced documentary called Too Funny To Fail. It’s about the spectacular failure of The Dana Carvey Show. I remember watching the few episodes that aired and really liking it, and I knew he did it with Robert Smeigel and originated the Ambiguously Gay Duo which was later taken by SNL along with other TV Funhouse bits. I didn’t realize that it was the show that gave Steve Carell, Steven Colbert and Louis CK their start. It’s a fun little doc with some sketches that I still remember and has lots of participation from the principles except Louis CK (and, unsurprisingly none from Charlie Kauffman who was a writer there as well).

Disney’s Hulu + Live TV subscribers will — finally — get Comedy Central, MTV, Nick, BET and other legacy Viacom cable channels as part of their lineup. ViacomCBS announced a new multiyear distribution agreement with Hulu, under which Hulu’s live TV subscription streaming service will add 14 cable networks: BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, VH1, CMT, Nick Jr., TV Land, BET Her, MTV2, NickToons, TeenNick and MTV Classic. |
Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Sort of makes up for the increased price bump. When will they be added?

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
I can catch up on Jersey Shore Family Vacation (MTV), Catfish (MTV) and Tosh.0 (Comedy Central)? I know, junk TV, but I love it haha
I dropped cable in August 2019 so I missed any new episodes after that. I was willing to drop those shows to get rid of cable. |

The show went from one Usa initially payed big money to air reruns of and a show they initially were trying to build a comedy block around to a show that last few years that airs at 12:am and 1:am. If it had not dipped in quality after a few seasons it probably would have fared better in reruns and been something one of the big streamers offered huge money to make it an exclusive |

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Disney and Sony have reached a multi-year deal for the post-pay-1 release window, a pact that will make Spider-Man and other major franchises eligible to stream on Disney+ for the first time. The flagship streaming service and Hulu are among many platforms covered by the agreement, which the official announcement called “unprecedented.” A host of platforms under the Disney tent are involved, including ABC, FX, Freeform. No specific plans for Disney+ have yet been finalized, but Marvel fans had been wondering when Spidey and others would appear alongside the rest of the streaming stable. For complicated legal reasons, the franchise has not been a full-fledged member of the Disney-controlled Marvel Cinematic Universe. Theatrical releases from 2022 to 2026 will move to Disney after their runs on Netflix, which earlier this month announced a deal with Sony for a pay-1 exclusive as well as co-production rights to direct-to-streaming films. Financial terms were not disclosed in the release and the companies to declined to comment on any dollar figures. A person familiar with the pact estimated the total combined value of the Netflix and Disney deals at more than $3 billion. Library rights to franchises like Spider-Man, Jumanji, Hotel Transylvania and others are part of the package. The official announcement said the deal “gives Disney enormous programming potential across its platforms and makes them key destinations for a robust collection of Spider-Man films.” Hulu will also get a “significant number” of library titles beginning as early as June. Linear networks joining the new deal include ABC, Disney Channels, Freeform, FX and National Geographic. FX and Sony had been in business for years and the overall Disney agreement succeeds a prior “post-pay-1” deal with FX. Universal, another key supplier to FX, recently ended its long-term relationship with FX, so the ongoing supply of Sony titles is a boost for the widely distributed pay-TV network. “This landmark multi-year, platform agnostic agreement guarantees the team at Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution a tremendous amount of flexibility and breadth of programming possibilities to leverage Sony’s rich slate of award-winning action and family films across our direct-to-consumer services and linear channels,” said Chuck Saftler, head of Business Operations for ABC, Freeform, FX Networks, and Acquisitions in DMED’s Networks division. Saftler, a key architect of FX’s movie slate deals, played a key role in the negotiations. “This is a win for fans, who will benefit from the ability to access the very best content from two of Hollywood’s most prolific studios across a multitude of viewing platforms and experiences.” |
Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Looks like the Viacom channels finally showed up
|
Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Yeah, I don’t have to watch Comedy Central on the Roku Channel anymore.
|
Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Awesome, I just noticed that this morning.
Finally, I can watch some trashy Jersey Shore and Catfish again (new episodes, the old episodes were already On Demand for a couple months) |
Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
Best Buy has another gift card deal again - Purchase a $100 Hulu digital gift card, get a $15 Best Buy e-gift card.

Re: Hulu -- News and Notable New additions
I think I’m going to finally cancel directv. I’m up to $135 for one tv and dvr. Looking into Hulu live as a substitute. I’d go ad free. Are there any major pluses or minuses with Hulu live? I currently don’t have Hulu at all and never have.
